However, all members have been sent emails explaining exactly what is happening.
Not every member got that email - I didn't. So big surprise for me when I visited the site for the first time in quite a long time yesterday.

It depends on method of payment. If it is a cheque, you will need to wait until it clears. If it is something like a postal order, then it will be instant. I would advise against sending cash though.
And do not worry about the warn bar. That is just indicating to you that your warning is at 0%. This will only move up if you receuie an official warning for breaking forum rules (which no one has done yet!) Only you and staff can see this meter.

You can cancel the automatic renew yourself in Paypal.

So how much are these hosting cost actually? Let's have some numbers:
"We have 7,289 registered members"...... 7289 x €10 = lots of doh.
If Filmboy doesn't PM me back with a "you are a contributor"-message, I'll be happy to pay up the 10,- for it is indeed only 1,8018018018018018018018018018018 packs of smoke (Heavy Van Nelle + Rizla paper = 5,55 :-). But out of this staggering # of members, how many are going to pay? A wild guess would be around 15%. Thus solving the problem of high bandwidth?

There is no shame in asking the users of this site to pay for a subscription in order to benefit from all that it has to offer. I will be happy to pay for a subscription, as I download frequently and love the covers and labels that I find on this site. This is my primary spot for custom covers and labels, and the best work that I have seen so far.
To the artists, thank you for your hard work, and the fruit of your labor.
To management, thank you for such a wonderful site, and you have made the right choice by asking for those who care to contribute in the form of a subscription.
When this goes into effect I will sign up immediately!
well i for one am all for it i know i would be stuck without it although i do use other sites but this is one of the best around,i am more than happy to pay the subcribers fee which i have just done but that wont stop me from uploading more covers and hopefully be as helpful as i can with the other members.
thanks for all your efforts.
