Bunny Dojo wrote:QUOTE (Bunny Dojo @ Nov 2 2015, 05:55 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Thanks, guys! I have no idea if it will sell a single copy, but it was exciting to see it on MyFonts alongside "real" fonts after having browsed the site so much over the years.
The original design was initiated from the lettering on whiskey crates in the film The Roaring Twenties, which takes place during prohibition. I wanted something fairly unique for Google purposes (and names like "Whiskey" were already taken anyway), so I almost settled on "Racketeer." But, when re-watching my favorite movie, one guy calls another a "rummy," and there's a card game I used to play with my grandparents and mother called "Rummy," so those connections were enough to win me over.![]()
Oh that's cool! Nice to hear the story behind it

A designer knows he has achieved perfection - not when there's nothing left to add - but when there's nothing left to take away

After nearly a year, the original font has sold about 4 copies so far.
It's not exactly the kind of rousing success that begs for a sequel, but I had some fun designing the posters for this one and wanted to share
in case you guys might enjoy having a look:

Creating fonts isn't an easy thing to do and takes a lot of time - £9.27 is very cheap for a font plus the money Tim generates from it it makes it worth his time and effort, it also could help go towards him possibly making more fonts in the future.

Thanks, Sauron! I'm hoping you're exactly right. The original was a bit more unique -- Machine or United Sans or Agency are all popular fonts in the same neighborhood as the Tall version -- but I'm hoping this one will bring new eyes and more usefulness along with it. And then, like you said, the next step is to branch out further, either into Italic options or an entirely different font family.

You bet. I don't mind sharing it with people on here I know and trust. Anyone interested, feel free to send a PM.
