I agree, it kind of looks like small cuts in the image at the moment.

Another slight update, not sure about the sun but i think the front is coming along quite nice

I like the addition of the sun. But how about removing the glare from the sun, from behind the main character? If the sun was in front of him, it would not be so light on his back. Another idea you may want to try, is adjusting the curves. It enhances the sun, and gives a more sun set/rise feel about it, as the sun is quite low in the sky? The only problem is, it takes away the bright fresh look you have gone for.

Think the sun would be out of frame to the far left, judging by the very long shadows on the ground of the small party, and the highlights on the back mountains...
Which makes the one in post #9 look the most correct, I think.
