I'm voting "not yet," based on Jazzy's comments, especially if there are suspicions that he is uploading someone else's work.

I'm getting a real "Ichy007" vibe from this guy, especially given his much-proclaimed avatar (see the shoutbox). Can we be sure it's not the same guy from around this time last year just trying again?

Hmm after reading all this I'm not so sure he should be promoted, if he is doing it just to gain access to download covers and not actually interested in producing great scans I would change my vote to No/Not Yet.

I look at it like this, if the guys scan are good enough for the gallery and he has the required amount then there is no reason to say no. personally I think his stuff is just gonna make up the numbers and no one is gonna use them, but at least he will keep the shoutbox active. wonder what happened to our old shoutbox champion, I miss little cool dude, in fact I miss both of Bumchin and Squat

To be fair to him, it was me that put him onto bluesnow. He also sourced a new scanner, which is why his scans vastly improved. All of the scans that I had him fix over the last couple of days, he has done without any quibble. So I do think the scans are his. As to if he is just uploading a few to gain access, without intention of regularly contributing, it is just hearsay. If he doesn't contribute regularly, then he gets demoted.

I voted 'Not Yet'. I am unsure how he got these scans out of his scanner given the quality of the raw scans he sent me for help with. These scans aren't great but the ones he sent to me couldn't be fixed enough to be acceptable. They were so bad that I just can't imagine how these came from the same scanner. I am in contact with him and trying to help him. I'll be asking him how/where he got these. Until I understand better, I say 'Not Yet'.

He didn't mention that to me and the scans he sent me came after he posted in 'Prove Yourself'.

I have gone through a few things with him today. He used his cousin's scanner, apparently a good one, and did almost no post processing except sizing and cropping. I downloaded his Batman scan and fixed it up then sent it back to him to show him how 15 minutes worth of his time could bring it up to a new level. He has admitted that scanning is harder than he thought. I think now he will come along, but I hope he uses the WIP forum before uploading. That is awkward for a scanner though because we can't upload a full sized scan so it can be checked in detail. It has to be a scaled down "preview" which hides the actual quality.

I will upgrade him, because there is a majority vote in his favour, and I think he will try and improve and continue to contribute. If he doesn't, well he loses his status
