The front looks great but maybe play with the "selective color" on Toby's face to bring out more red (natural) and his lips look too purple
On the back
• spiderman seems to be dominating the cover too much to leave room for: quotes, summary, taglines
maybe shrink him a bit and place him be hing everything below him including the blacksquare shape)
• the photos on the back seem really dark, try brightening them up or find more daylight pictures
Waiting for more mate "experienced designer"
Thanks a lot, I'm planning on putting some quotes at the bottom left of Peter, also, the Inexperienced Designer was originally supposed to be a joke, but I found it necessary since I am a bit inexperienced in the field of film covers.M0vieM0nster wrote:QUOTE (M0vieM0nster @ Dec 3 2010, 11:45 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>The front of the cover looks great and far better than i expected when i clicked on the thread to have a peek although i would try the suggestions of possibly trying to play with the colour of his lips a bit to make them more realistic. The back also looks great and my suggestions depends on whether you intend the cover to be a complete custom or a custom following a more retail like design (my personal choice). If your going for the first option the cover is fine as it is... the second? Might I suggest only that you could possibly move the main back image down and add a barcode above spidermans head still cutting it off slightly leaving the same general continuity from the front whilst leaving more room for a synopsis and maybe a quote ;-) Either way i too am looking forward to seeing where you go from here, great start!
Thanks, I think I fit in the Barcode properly while being able to keep Peter, mostly in the same position.Arkflip wrote:QUOTE (Arkflip @ Dec 4 2010, 12:02 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Best Spider-Man 3 cover i've seen!
Agree with everything Nikerun said.
Thanks/RRJR84 wrote:QUOTE (RRJR84 @ Dec 4 2010, 12:42 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>for a first go at a custom cover I give you thumbs up, although you bring experience from games movies are slightly different but you've started something really great here keep it up.
I agree with the comment about the purple lips and I would try and shrink spidey he does take up pretty much the whole back top. Just keep working at and taking advice and it'll be another great cover to add to the sites gallery.sauron wrote:QUOTE (sauron @ Dec 4 2010, 05:32 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Looks brilliant but i agree about the lips they look too purple. I like the size of the spider-man on the back at the moment but might need to decrease the size when more has been added.
Here's ver 3
Posted: Sat Dec 04, 2010 2:01 pmthat's much a lot better but I think that light in lower right corner of spider-man seem weird and out of place. maybe enlargen the special features just one or two sizes as well look really great so far.
Posted: Sat Dec 04, 2010 4:06 pmI think it looks better with Spider-man over the stills...
The front colour looks much better
Posted: Sat Dec 04, 2010 4:13 pmI agree with sauron... Spidey looks awesome overlapping the stills!!![]()

You might want to increase the Pt. size (and line-spacing) on the synopsis and special features text to fill in some of that blank city background space to the left of Black Spidey (unless you plan to put something in there?).
Keep up the awesome work!! You're definitely more than an "inexperienced designer." Seems like you know your stuff pretty well.![]()

Thanks lad, please tell me what you think about this version as there are still some small empty spaces.

Posted: Sat Dec 04, 2010 5:24 pmNice update!! Maybe you could add some more words to each line of the Special Features to help fill in that gap? For example, change "The First Bite: Telling the Story of Spider-Man" to "The First Bite: Telling the Story of Spider-Man in an Exclusive Featurette" and "Visual Terror: Bringing the villains to reality in the Third Spider-Man Film." Just make up some generic text to fill in that gap. If that still doesn't do the trick, try slightly increasing the kerning (letter-spacing) to fill in the rest.
You could also increase the kerning on the "Spidey's back and better..." tagline to fill in the gap between the text and the barcode.
Also... is that supposed to be 4/5 stars for the EW quote? Why not just drop the 5th darkened star and spread the 4 out over that gap (maybe add quotes around the stars to fill in some space as well)? Showing a blank star makes it seem like the movie isn't that good (or at least doesn't meet EW's 5-star rating). Maybe brighten the stars slightly because they're starting to disappear into the background.
Otherwise, I'd say you've got a pretty finished cover on your hands!!![]()
