They're nice little spacesavers but I personally don't use them myself. I can see where some members might want to use them, though. Good designs on the covers in post #8!

These cover remind me of some "CD" cases and i do agree these look great. I wonder what do they call these covers. I guess these mini cases need some time to get more popular... like bazzah said It is all about demand.

I dont know any other sites that make this size custom. It's a neat idea for space saving. And the customs above look cool (except for that first post, ugh). The million dollar question is how many people would be interested in going this route with their DVD's?
I'm a Blu-ray guy so this size case doesn't hold any personal interest.

These are neat and I even have a couple of retail mini DVD's in cases even smaller. Would I use this smaller format? Probably not. I usually store my backed up DVD's in the original case with the retail version. As it is I don't use the cover art that is currently available since I retain the retail cover art.
But I guess the question is if there is an audience for these. I'd have to say yes. You already have people using 7mm cases and artwork being provided for those. So why not these smaller cases? It's an interesting idea and maybe a vote is in order amongst Cover Designers or even just the Master Designers.

Thank you all for your comments, I appreciate it.
I myself wouldn't mind making them or using some of these, but like Baz said is all about demand.
And Donger you have a good idea about a vote. Maybe something could be arranged by Baz.

correct me if im wrong, but these are about the same size as a cd jewel case? the local dvd shop uses them.
i like the idea of these and think you should give them a go
but the biggest problem is the size - its not a straight ratio conversion, which is why i imagine they get 'squished' - which means extra work if you were to make one along side a standard cover

I don't use them myself, but i can understand that some people want to use it.
Limited shelf space for example.

It's about that size Henry, the spine is what changes in size. These are 142 x 124 x 7mm.
Supercool and I have made some customs for a better viewing on post #8
You can't just resize your regular customs, they have to be made from scratch.
Post #1 was just one that I got from a friend and I scanned it... Ignore that.

I agree that these would be a good space saving idea for some people but I wouldn't use them personally, not for DVDs anyhow.
I have some of the cases, about 20 or so, but I use them to keep my original computer/game discs in.
As for making covers for this size, I can't say I'd do many if any at all.

Looks like some nifty space savers.

I don't use them myself, but i can certainly see why they might appeal to some people.
