Mine is one of those TN-panels. And although it's one of better TN-panel monitors i've seen, the downsides of those panels is still very present. Especially the viewing angle. Changing my viewing angle vertically somewhat solarizes the picture, reversing the tone(s).
EDIT:
I've just used that Calibrize program you mentioned. Very handy little program. Thanks for the tip!
Which screen do you use?

I use sun screen - never did before, but the missus wants me to...
*Replying to initial Question of the day: What screen do you use?*
Have a couple of monitors tho:
27"iMac LED screen,
Samsung SyncMaster 930BF - like Scott - fantastic monitor, never failed - but, alas in 3:4 format. This one is 19".
22" Samsung SyncMaster T220 - perfect widescreen monitor - never fails, but could of been 24" - and have a proper on/off switch, instead of the sported invisible touch panel, which you can never find...

A designer knows he has achieved perfection - not when there's nothing left to add - but when there's nothing left to take away
