Ok, so I just started fooling around with cs 4. How do i connect several layers together so when I drag one they all move? It doesn't have the little box like in cs2

Try highlighting one layer, then hold shift and highlight another layer. Or hold CTRL and click each layer

You're a good man Bazzah thanks. I also used your masking/extract technique today and I must say Thank you so much. That was a breeze, and the inner glow tip is great. This tut Makes my cut outs look 100% better than my previous way of extracting.

Thanks again

Or - utilize the 'make into a Smart Object Object' - if you don't need to edit them anymore. That way you can easily for example apply a colour overlay (or any other blend method) to several layers all at once.

If you later decide that you need to edit them anyways, simply right-click on the Smart Object, then choose 'Edit contents'

I figured that's what the icon was for, but it was grayed out and wouldn't let me choose it for some reason

You can just ctrl-click on the layers you want to select then right-click and choose 'Link Layers' from the menu popping up ;)

another trick could be to make a new group and add all layers to that file. I like this best cause then nothing is linked yet so all you have to do is open the file and adjust or change items as needed with having to highlight and unlink and such, also you can copy the groups and experiment in them without destroying your original idea, just remember not to merge the group until You want.
