Alright guys/gals I just found a simple treatment to view my .PSD thumbnails in windows explorer... and i wanted to share it with you. Some of you may already know this but for those who don't, here it is.

1. Download the file attached to a temporary folder.

2. Make a System Restore Point just to be safe.

3. Shut down all Adobe programs.

4. Unzip it to ‘C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Shell. You could quite likely already have either of the DLL files. No matter. and if you don't have a folder named "Shell".. make one now

5. Run ‘aiicon.dll.reg‘ by double clicking it.

6. Run ‘psicon.dll.reg‘ by double clicking it.

That should do it. If you can’t smell smoke right now it probably worked. I've had no problems at all, and it’s worked faultlessly every time.

WARNING: Registry Editing is a black art. If your PC turns into a large Blancmange, I can't be held responsible. Good Luck!

OI! Just followed your guidelines and had a bad case of fatal blue screen, then my pc exploded, sending out black smoke and my face to Siberia.

Any advise?

Oh Crap... assuming you're using XP.. restart your PC in safe mode and restore your system to an earlier point. Strangely I've used this trick and it works fine on all the PC's I've tried :chin: I've even added a screeshot.

Edit: BTW what did you do.. cuz number of downloads to my attached file is still "0" :chin:

Hey Z this is a great post. I did this awhile back, and thought I had posted it here for others to use, but seems as though it may have been a different site. I love it and it didn't cause me any issues (WinXp) Th only thing I do so I now that what I am looking at is add PSD to the name of the file so when doing a quick look over I know what is an adobe file and which is just a jpeg. (to lazy to mouse over each image to get the description.
