Just had an email from CC which I have pasted below.

"Just a quick email to remind members about uploading procedures on CC.
Any cover which is not on the board may be uploaded and the uploader awarded credit regardless if they are the autor of the cover or not.

The only thing we ask is if you know who made the cover then Credit them in your post.
Seems a lot of cover artists are insisting there covers are not uploaded to CC but CC was built on the basis of providing covers to members not artists names. So you may upload any cover(s) without fear of having your account banned. Our rule is if they cant be bothered to upload them themselfs then that leaves the door open for anyone else to upload them.

All covers uploaded or film art etc earns the uploader 20 credits."

just made a similar post myself on CM.

just shows how desperate they are...we have always had the opinion that if someone wants to upload to a site they are quite capable of doing so themselves.
The artist may not want to upload on a particular site for whatever reason, but to allow people to upload covers that are not their own work sucks.

most of us are members on a number of coversites and for the most part enjoy good relations, but if a MD here made a great cover, i wouldn't take it and upload it to another site. just wrong IMO.
Sorry for my English, i'm from Leicester innit?

I quite agree, I like making the covers that I do and rather enjoy it sadly lol, I up them to 1 of 2 sites, firstly here, I feel I have the option to put them wherever I like lol, but that choice is mine, and not some hick, that decides to up away to wherever he/she feels like.

That message troubles me quite a bit. That's all I'll say.

You said it Rob! My words exactly!

I replied the that email and have had no response..... maybe an automated email, so I may never get one.

So I made a comment in the shout box with regard a cover that I uploaded here and was then posted to said site.
No reference to me or this site. As you have to make a comment to access the file, the CC member in question
takes all the credit for making the cover, without the slightest hint putting people straight.

So I classed it as stealing. which in my opinion it is.

I am sure this wont be the last I hear about this. bring it on. :)
It has been a long time. Still two years to go.

Just an FYI - our rules page clearly states "9. You may not upload ANY art work to another site, that you have downloaded from hirescovers.net, without the express permission of the original creator. Doing so may lead to a site ban." So, if you know that someone downloaded your work from here and uploaded it there, let Bazzah know. Especially if you can identify the user.

For the record, HiresCovers does not want anyone to engage in any activity that forces them to violate the rules of another site. Please correct me if that statement is incorrect, Baz.

Maybe a general warning across this site is needed since CC is so clearly asking people to ignore the rules of other sites...

It is very clear that they have absolute disregard for the rules of other sites and obviously no morals. ... And to hell with the community.

I only upload my covers here. (with the odd one or two elsewhere). If my covers are found any where else it is because they have been taken without consent.
So much for creating for exclusivity. Paahh!
