Possible To Have Photoshop Print Guidelines For Cutting A Cover Straight?
I use a cheap paper cutter to cut my covers to fit. I used to us coverxp awhile back, but now just us PS. The only thing liked about coverxp is that when it printed the cover it also printed guide lines all the way to the edge of the page to follow when cutting, and PS doesn't. is there anyway to have PS create these lines? or a trick that someone uses?

there's a couple ways you can do it
file
print preview
in the drop down box - choose out
click on border
or you can draw a marquee line around the edge
edit
stroke
Ok I tried the print preview on just a plank White cover temp using a .01mm border, now does that print on the inside of the cover dimensions or out side what woudl be the cover?
For the marquee line>Edit>stroke is 1px the smallest? And I'm assuming choosing outside would print this border outside to original cover image, correct?
***Update***
for the marquee tip I lined the edge>Edit>stroke 1px outside and it printed nothing?
***Update2***
instead of chosing outside chose inside and it printed
Thanks for your tips. I'm most likely going with the Print Preview>Drop down-output>border-.01mm
By the way very nice 1st post.....shizzle's looks to be another great member to HIRES.....

Is it crop marks you need?
What I would probably do is add about a 1/8" inch lip extra all the way around the artwork for bleed purposes.
make guides around the art at the 1/8" marks.
then just draw a black line 1/4 of the way down each corner at those guide lines and use those to cut from.
Photoshop can't make crop marks to print from unless your printer has options to do that.
If you want I can throw together a quick template and email it to you. PM me if you want me to.
