As for Greenland, I really enjoyed this movie. I had it on BR for the longest time but never watched it. Like you guys, I thought it would be time to do so since the new one is coming out soon. I would rate it higher than you guys though.

I find that Tommy Lee Jones is choosing bad movies lately. I used to watch everything he did, but not so much anymore. So thanks for that review Speed, I will pass yet another one of his movies.

Eden (2025) - 6/10
After watching the trailer for this film, I thought it would be some kind of horror type movie, kinda like I imagine (Blink Twice) is? (I have only watch the trailer for that film). So I went in, not nothing that it was based on a true story. The movie itself is pretty okay, with it being based on a true story, there's not that much freedom to change things. I can imagine things might have gone down the way they did in this movie, or at least close to it, but it wasn't a thrill for me, just a decent film for what it is. So that's why 6/10. If you'd like to know more about the history or are particularly interested in what happened in "Eden", then I'm sure you'll enjoy this film.

No, it was basically just a few people who wanted to move away from the "real world" to kinda create their own. And also, someone who wanted to build a hotel.chouette wrote:QUOTE (chouette @ Jan 11 2026, 09:35 PM) That's too bad because it has a good cast. I don't know the true story of Eden, but the trailer looks good. Is it like a cult?

Warfare (2025) - 4/10
This is a great cover by bojka, and way more than what this movie deserves in my opinion.
Even tho something might make a great story, it doesn't make it a great movie.
I've just watched Warfare (2025) and I know it's based off of the memory of the soldiers involved, but as a movie, I found this to be really slow the first hour and then the action picked up a bit for the last 30 min. Some of the decisions made and the way things were done, made little or no sense to me.
Spoiler BlockSo, the soldiers (main squad) is in a house spotting terrorists in Iraq. After a while, the terrorists manages to throw a grenade inside the house where the soldiers are spotting from, this causes (what seems like a small amount of) damage to the sniper doing the spotting. He has a bit of blood on one of his hands, but seems to be fine otherwise.
They call for an extraction, to bring the wounded soldier out, bare in mind that the terrorists knows where they are and are ofc watching them, which makes this a HUGE risk only to extract a soldier who has a small amount of damage to his arm. As the extraction team (tank) arrives, the tank gets shot down while they are extracting, causing the death of one solider and wounding too more (waaay more than just their hand). Also, from the street view as the smoke settles, you can clearly see a tank, just sitting there on the corner of the street right next to the extraction point (not doing anything).
They fall back and now they need another extraction as they have two severe wounded soldiers. Eventually, another team of soldiers arrive, they fire a bit back and forth with the terrorists, but eventually manage to extract the two wounded soldiers, as well as some other (for no reason). They fall back in the house and again, they need to get picked up so they can escape. There were plenty of room in the first two tanks that came to pick up the two wounded soldiers (I'm sure if they really wanted to everyone could have escaped right then and there). They shoot some more and wait some more, another set of tanks come to extract them, they all get extracted and it's over. After the dust settles, you can see all the terrorists stepping out in the streets from their vantage points, as well as the family where the soldiers were are realizing that the soldiers are gone and it's safe to go out.
I've watched American Sniper (2014) and that movie was brilliant, also based on a true story and also a "war" movie. This on the other hand, a waist of time and it also seemed like a very unnecessary mission as well as everything that happened just seemed pointless.

Finally a movie we dissagree on, but I know why you like it and what you call a "pleasant surprise" it's about 25 min into the movie when a certain someone meets the Wittmers for the first time.Bazzah wrote:QUOTE (Bazzah @ Jan 12 2026, 04:46 PM) I found this movie interesting, but only because it is based on a true story. I was pleasantly surprised.

I watched Interstellar last night, for the second time. Although I knew what was going to happen, it was still an extremely entertaining movie. For me, it is one of those movies that you will remember as a stand-out movie, that I could watch many times. A great story line, special effects and acting will make sure this one will be remembered as a great movie for many years to come. 8.5/10
And this is my favourite cover made for this movie.

The Jacket (2005) - 4/10
For some reason I didn't enjoy this movie that much, which might be weird since I'm a big fan of The Butterfly Effect and I also think Memento is a great movie. This being somewhat down the same route, you'd think I'd really enjoy this one too, sadly it left me disappointed.
Maybe I just didn't get the main point of the movie or that I might have missed something, but I found it to be a little confusing and a bit unsure about what's what. So apparently Jack gets shot in the head while in the army. After being released from the Army and traveling along the road he gets picked up by a random guy, who gets pulled over by a policeman. The guy kills the policeman, but the policeman managed to fire back before going down, shooting Jack in the head (again
). The guy then frames Jack leaving the gun in his hand, Jack gets sent to a mental institution since he's being found mentally insane by the judge. At the institution a doctor preforms some experimental treatment on Jack, locking him up in a body drawer. Here he manages to travel in to the future to learn about what happened and so on. I won't go more into details as this have been long enough already, but all in all, I struggle to make any sens of this film. I also want to point out, the movie is called "The Jacket", the main character is Jack, who meets Jackie, like come on, Jack, Jack, Jack.. can we be a little more creative please...
