Tove To Give Shape To Text?

How can i give some shape to the text...? (photoshop cs2)for synoposis on the back. for example.. like a triangle form.

Draw the shape/path with the pen tool > select the type tool and click inside the path.

Perhaps I'm daft, but that doesn't work for me. The Text ignores the borders of the text.

Can you please explain more fully?
