What are you trying to do? Add the bricks to the debris below?

1) Add Layer mask to the wall image, so the effect will only work on the cutout image below (the debris/hole). Easily done by Cmd (Ctrl) clicking the layer. Obviously the layer mask should be placed on the wall image, so make sure you have selected that layer.
2) Change the blend mode of the layer to what effect you prefer. I am using a Danish version of PS, so I have no idea what the english name for the blend mode is. I also addded an adjustment layer above (Cropped) to adjust the effect.

Just so you can see the layers/layer mask:

Is that what you are asking for?

If you want the busted rocks to show up as well, then your best bet would be to have them on a separate layer. That way you could add the texture to the rocks separately, and also add shadows and lighting to the front rocks, which would make them stand out more. If you have the AI file of that image, then you could probably separate the layers easily, otherwise you would have to extract the rocks from the background. I hope that makes sense.
You can also try the 'Blend if' mode. You can access it by double-clicking on the right side of the texture layer. Or you can go to Layer > Layer Style > Blending Options. Adjusting the sliders can make the blend look more realistic.

Agreed. I'd recommend 1 layer for your wall with the texture, and then 1 layer for the flying pieces using a matching stone texture without the seams.wysmommy wrote:QUOTE (wysmommy @ Aug 2 2025, 07:55 PM) If you want the busted rocks to show up as well, then your best bet would be to have them on a separate layer.
(Or, you can use the same texture with the seams, but you would have to move/rotate it for each individual flying piece.)

Maybe play a bit more with with shadows or add highlights around the flying pieces, so they don't blend in as much. Finish with some extra dust flying, etc. and you should have a nice result.
