Getting Started In Photoshop - Introduction

Short Introduction to this series of videos geared to those who are just starting Photoshop to hopefully make mastering some of the basics a little easier.

These are a little dated but my days of making new ones has ended.

Part 1

In Part 1 of this series we are going to start with opening and saving files as well as creating new layers from various sources, a little on layer order and the two most commonly used blending modes.

Part 2

In Part 2 of this series we are going to focus on logos, learn a little about the different formats they come in, how to insert them and organize them as well as how to set their colors.

Part 3

In Part 3 of this series we are going to focus on text, learning about the different ways to insert, edit and format text.

Part 4

In Part 4 of this series we are going to focus on Masks, what they are, how they work, how to create and edit them.

In Part 5 of this series we are going to focus on Selections, what they are how to create and use them.

Part 6

In Part 6 of this series we are going to focus on Adjustment Layers & Clipping Masks, we will learn how to create adjustment layers and then use clipping masks to "focus" or "limit their range of effect" to a specific image layer, parts of an image layer or even to adjust entire groups of images.

Part 7

In Part 7 of this series we are going to focus on Blending Images, we will learn how to create a image strip from multiple images and blend or fade them together, using layers clipped in a stack and a image pixel mask for the blending, then some layer effects to create a frame.

Part 8

In Part 8 of this series we are going to focus on Compositing, we will focus mainly on matching the subject matter and the background, have a discussion on warm vs. cool images and learn a trick on how to find the correct color to apply to the subject based on the background and a quick talk on perspective shadows.

Part 9

In Part 9 of this series we are going to focus on Creating a Symmetrical Shape, we will use the Pen Tool to create a mirrored six point path with matching curves using a grid and snap, includes info on how to change the grid settings and snap settings.

Part 10

In Part 10 the last of this series, we will pull it all together by using a template to Create a DVD Cover.

The only requirement is a basic knowledge of Photoshop, the template used in this tutorial and the fonts for it are included in a attachment at the end.
