I need help. I made this. But can't seem to find an image to fit the main back image. Also I normally use a gradient to fade the back text/credits into the photo. What do you do when you are using a complete image? Also the resources are extremely limited. Thanks guys.

Great start Kat :)

in a case like this, i would probably take inspiration from the layout of the vhs cover.

now to fade your image behind the legal area, you want to use a layer mask.

first select the layer you want to create a layer mask for.
then click on the little icon below your layers (see pic)
[attachment=50026:createlayermask.jpg]

now make sure your layer mask is selected, indicated by the white frame around it (see pic)

using a layer mask is very simple. everything white can be seen, everything black is hidden. everything in between (grey) is transparent.
transparency depends on the shade of grey obviously. so you can just use the brush tool and paint black on the layer mask to hide things.
or just like you are used to using gradients, do that and you get a nice fade from black to white :)

maybe someone else can explain it better, but layer masks are a very powerful tool in photoshop and very easy to use. just play around with em :D

Maybe HERE .
Or HERE.
Otherwise, the main theme is forest etc...
Then a cabin, a forest, mountains and skies...

Looking good so far but on the back I feel the stills, synopsis and tagline/heading are too close together. They need some breathing space.

The tagline font is very hard to read, it might be better to the same font as "American" in the TT?

So like suggested I spaced out all the text. Changed the font on the synopsis and used a clipping mask for the rear photo. It feels off. Any more suggestions?

The only thing that feels off to me, is that your tagline and synopsis has 2 different fonts. It might look better if you chose the same family font for both.

Yes, much better. Now how about you put your tagline a different color? Maybe a light orange color like in your drawing above? Something that would stand out.
