HiResCovers Achievement Awards

A few years ago, we had our first HiResCovers Achievement Awards. With many new members here now, we have reviewed the rewards. Some rewards remain the same, some have been awarded to different members and we have some brand new awards too.

Awards that have stayed the same

The Criterion Guru Achievement award will remain the same, with ctaulbee holding this accolade.

Despite Ctaulbee no longer designing covers, nobody can deny that he remains the Criterion master. His collection that he procured over the years is still our greatest collection of Criterion cover art. And it is worth reiterating that to some his Criterion work may look like a simple poster with some text, but this is not the case. Most Criterion artwork is very low quality, and it takes a lot of skill to bring these images up to the quality that we recognise with CT. This, along with his perfection with all of the details, is why Ctaulbee remains the Criterion Guru.

Another award that will remain the same, is the Comic Legend Achievement. When most of us think about Comic Book Collection covers, we think of Kernie.

Despite some incredible Comic Book Collections designed by other artists, Kernie still remains the King in this category. And even though he is no longer creating custom cover art, Kernie's Comic Book Collection is still the largest we have, by far. And every single cover is of impeccable quality.

The award for Space-saver Curator Award will also remain with tmscrapbook, who continues to create her brilliant space saver and collection covers.

Tmscrapbook is another household name for all of us, who we all know for making her fabulous space saver cover art. If you need a cover for a series of films, Tmscrapbook is your lady. And now she has also been designing these awesome spanning spine sets, which will look incredible on your shelves. And with a collection of almost 20,000 covers and labels, Tmscrapbook must keep her Space-saver Curator Award.

And the last award to remain the same, is the Label Warden Award. Who can deny that Bajeeza is still the King of labels.

As one of our oldest designers here, Bajeeza continues to flood the gallery with his excellent custom movie labels. He was awarded this accolade 3 years ago, and at the time he had 5000 labels in our gallery. I said it wouldn't be long before he reached 10,000 labels in our gallery, the way he was uploading so many. Well I kind of underestimated this figure. As I write this, Bajeeza has made a staggering 21,246 custom labels! Thus cementing his ownership of the Label Warden achievement!

Old awards, new members

The following awards have been bestowed to new members.

Originally the All-Star Staffer Achievement was awarded to Jazzy, but is now being presented to Ripley, for his dedication to our site.

Ripley was originally awarded the Rising Star achievement, for being the best new-comer to HiResCovers. Now Ripley has been with us for a few years, he is no longer a rising star. His star status has been cemented here at HiResCovers, due to his desire to help wherever he can and his fantastic cover art. We all know Ripley for his positive attitude, his willingness to help, his fulfilling of requests and for his excellent cover art that he produces. Ripley has gone from a rising star, to a dedicated moderator that we are lucky to have with us.

The Request Specialist Achievement is now being awarded to Jazzy, for his dedication to filling members requests.

Jazzy continues to be a fabulous all-rounder here. From his quirky quips in the forums, to his brilliant custom cover collection, to his dedication to helping out around the site in lot's of ways. But most noticeably lately, Jazzy has been busy filling lot's of requests, which is no easy task. Often requests are for unpopular or old titles, which always makes creating covers that much more difficult. But it seems it isn't a problem for Jazzy, who has been filling requests daily, as well as creating covers for his own collection, running the Cover Of The Month competition, approving artwork in the gallery and much more.

Brand new awards

First is the Nostalgia Guru Award, which goes to none other than Bunny Dojo for his unmatched skill in bringing old images to life and creating stunning cover art.

Originally Bunny Dojo was awarded the Design Patriarch award, but after some consideration from staff members, we have decided that he should be awarded the Nostalgia Guru award. Bunny Dojo is an old soul, in a new(ish) body. A perfect gentleman, and a design genius. His ability to take an old black and white image, that can be 70 years old, and bring it to life in quality and colour is incredible. All of his custom covers are perfectly executed, with every fine little detail polished.

Next we have the Competition Virtuoso Award which goes to Subwoofer for being one of the most successful competitors here at HiResCovers.

Subwoofer only joined us in April 2024, and made a huge impact right away. A completely unique designer, he initially stunned HiRes members with his incredible artwork. And then he won his first competition the same month he joined us. That was just the beginning of what would become a dominance of competition wins. He would go on to win at least one competition a month in 2024, sometimes procuring both Cover Of The Month and HiResChallenge wins in the same month. In fact, he has won a total of 12 out of 17 competitions! A dominance that we have not witnessed since the Kernie days.

Now we have a new award for Shoutbox Warden, which goes to none other than Chouette

You may remember a member called Little Cool Dude, from several years ago, who received a similar award. Well we have a new verbose shouter in the Shoutbox, and a very entertaining one too. Chewie is always about to lift our spirits, with her shouts in the shoutbox and funny remarks in the forums. A lovely lady, who is always here to help and share her friendliness with us all in the forums and also makes great cover art. Chouette has proven to be another valuable asset to HiResCovers, despite only being active here for the last several months.

Last, but by no means least, we have the Grumpy Master Award, which goes to Wrench

Now this award has nothing to do with me. I don't want to name who is responsible for gifting this accolade, but I can confirm that it was nominated by a French Canadian, male moderator. The award is for Wrench's shouts in the shoutbox, and posts in the forums, which are usually quibbling with Chouette. This has served as great entertainment for us all, so it is a very fitting award. Sorry Wrench!

I'm proud and impressed
 to everyone to have such a merit.
I like that :p
Thanx to your imagination, and, as every one of us might say, thanx for those kind words...

Same  - I thought for sure you had something to do with this, but apparently not... unless you are a French Canadian and never told us! lol

Those achievement awards are certainly well written. I read them all, but my favorite by far is the grumpy one! Bahahaha!!
