You can use the eye dropper tool in your Curves adjustment layer (or your layers adjustment/raw camera) to pick and adjust your light/medium/dark areas of your image.

Add a new Curves Adjustment layer (Ctrl/CMD + M), and click the Black point eye dropper

With the eye dropper selected, select the darkest point on your image. Now select the Grey point eye dropper to select the medium brightness point on your image and then do the same with the White eye dropper tool on the lightest point of your image.

Experiment by clicking lighter/darker shades of your image with each eye dropper to see different results.
