They say you should measure twice and cut once. I will add that if it has been a couple of weeks since you measured, measure again! I finally got to work in a new shelf for my Doctor Who collection, but after the initial assembly, I found out that I had made it too long by a couple of inches (I still have to sand, stain, and finish it).

Then I remembered another issue I have had with this collection: not all the discs I have will fit in these cases, especially for the first six seasons (even though those are the wider 12-disc cases). There are a few reasons for this. One is that when there is a new animation of a missing story, it often comes in a 2- or 3-disc set. Some seasons have several of these animated episodes and all those discs just won’t fit. Added to that is the fact that some of the animated episodes have been previously released as reconstructions, so now I have multiple versions of the same story.
I decided that I could solve both of these issues at the same time. I whipped up a simple, non-specific cover that I can print two copies of, and then put the extra discs in those cases. Then the shelf will be full and all my discs will have a home. I think I’ll put one of the “extras†cases at each end of the shelf, because I love symmetry.

There will definitely be more. Since I add to this set one doctor at a time, the ideal scenario would be if the next doctor has only two seasons!M0vieM0nster wrote:QUOTE (M0vieM0nster @ Jan 19 2022, 06:20 PM) Are there not likely to be more as well?
We walk in the dark places no others will enter. We stand on the bridge, an no one may pass.
I have thought about doing an expanding design but I didn't like anything I came up with. Maybe next time I'll just make it a foot or so longer than it needs to me and then use a cool Doctor Who bookend to keep them in place.

All i can remember is some version when i was little, i think my older brother was more into it.
Shame it doesn't have what seasons are what on the spines but Good looking spine set!
