I have had a quick look at 3d modelling programs in the past, and they are very difficult. I am sure with enough time and patience you would learn to use them, but it would take a lot of time to get anywhere near K's level.

They look great!

The color on those Titans covers is bananas! I love it, man they pop. I also Like how you managed to make each season's cover feel different but still have that pop and fun come through. I dig them, nice work.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking as well.

How long have you been using Cinema 4D and is it hard to learn? I'm guessing achieving the same results as you would surely take some time.
For the 3D Title Treatments, I actually don't use Cinema4D (only on a few rare occasions). Cinema4D (like almost any 3D software) is very complex with a lot of capabilities. For me personally, it has never come easy. I've dabbled with Cinema4D for years and still only feel like I'm barely scratching the surface.

3D is almost its entirely own thing... unless you're diving deep and devoting all of your time to learning it, it's tough to get a handle on it. Because I bounce between Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects, and some basic web programming, I've never had the time (or ambition) to truly tackle Cinema 4D. I don't say this to scare you off from learning it, just to let you know that it does seem to take a bit of a commitment to understand all of the potential that can be tapped.

My process for the Title Treatments is a bit complicated...

Step 1) Adobe Illustrator - convert title treatment using vector paths. Sometimes a vector EPS or SVG of the title is readily available. Other times I'm able to match the font. Most of the time, I redraw the letters with the Pen Tool.

Step 2) Adobe After Effects with the Zaxwerks 3D Invigorator plugin - import vector paths from Illustrator to 3D Invigorator in After Effects. Add the desired depth, bevels, lighting, and basic textures with a grayscale color palette. Render all of the parts out as separate layers to PNG files.

Step 3) Adobe Photoshop - import PNG files. Add color to the grayscale renders. Add additional textures, lighting, layer styles.

I'm sure there's ways to simplify these convoluted process, as it is quite time-consuming. But I've seemed to have success with it, so I'm going to keep doing what works for me! :D :D :D

That is the best one sentence summation I could have imagined

Thanks for the feedback buddy. I also have Zaxwerks 3D Invigorator plugin, but I only got it to work with fonts. I was wondering why I couldn't apply it to a layer in PS, I've never tried path's tho. It would be cool (if you ever have the time and ofc want to) to see a tutorial on how you go about using it. I was also thinking that for my part, AE is probably the best way to go when it comes to 3D titles (in general).

Kernie's Weekly Cover Update #32: Teen Titans Go!
[Click image to view in gallery]

Did some reorganizing for Teen Titans Go! First of all, WB was releasing these on DVD in "half-seasons," splitting each season into 2 parts. When I originally made the DVD covers, they were labelled as "Volumes." This got incredibly confusing after a while. It also became increasingly difficult to find resources for enough keyart. The show is currently airing Season 6 at the moment... and I had no desire to make 12 different covers to accommodate each "half-season." So I merged the two halves together into complete season sets. This should make things a bit less confusing and time-consuming for me.

The current setup is each Blu-ray season set has 2 discs (matching the retail release of Season 1). Each DVD season set has 4 discs (combining the 2 discs from the retail Part 1 and the 2 discs from the retail Part 2).

I also revised the template, new custom 3D title treatment, revised keyart, etc.

Also included is last fall's DTV movie, "Teen Titans Go! Vs. Teen Titans," which I hadn't gotten a chance to make a cover for until recently.
