I've encountered an added lag in Photoshop lately. For example, in clicking text to edit it, there's an extra second or two of delay.

Most notably, when drawing a curve, it registers the starting point, then stutters for a second or two before jumping to the current position, creating the left result:

Restarting the computer somewhat alleviates the problem temporarily, but it returns within a few minutes of opening Photoshop again, even on relatively small/simple projects.

Do you have any optimizations you like to use to keep things running smoothly?

So far, I've gone into Preferences > Performance and increased Memory Usage and decreased History States, without much difference.

I have been experiencing this too, and it does seem to be random when it happens. I wonder if it is a cache issue, as closing photoshop and reopening the file resolves it for me.

I've not seen this but I have a lot of tools that randomly do weird things, resetting them seems to get them back in line.

My default go to fix in situations like this is to start by resetting the preferences, it seems to me the preferences file gets corrupted from time to time, and resetting it seems to fix a lot of unexplained behaviors.

1. Press Ctrl-K (PC) or Cmd-K (Mac).
2. Click on "Reset Preferences on Quit" in the "General" tab and press OK to confirm.
3. Press OK to close the Preferences window.
4. Restart Photoshop.

The new NVIDA driver update messed up some things for me in Photoshop, I had to go back to a older driver.

Wasted most of Wed messing around with that...

I’ve not had any issues but I don’t really use Photoshop for anything too intense nowadays, probably another bug that Adobe will fix when they can be bothered.
