Congratulations to all designers who entered this competition and to Weyn for the impressive win! Welcome to the Master Designer club!
Judging these entries was not an easy task and one that I did not take lightly. I poured over every pixel, every word, and the entire design as a whole. I provided Bazzah with extensive reasoning for each choice, but I'll leave that up to him if he wants to make those public. Nevertheless, I spent many hours ranking each design, then adjusting those rankings as new details in the covers presented themselves to me. Just know that I did not just spend 5 minutes putting these into a subjective order and then moving on.
I'll be honest, the final rankings are not what I would have expected at first glance. But this competition wasn't about "which cover is the first one that catches your eye?" In the end, I chose the most refined cover that best demonstrated a knowledge of the elements and principles of design. After all, the prize was a Master Designer spot, and a master should be someone who knows his/her craft inside and out.
All this being said, each entrant displayed a supreme level of knowledge, creativity, and effort in their designs. It was an honor to be asked to judge such talent and skill. Thanks for making the job an extremely difficult one!
