Thank you for taking the time to notice some of the details, like the custom title treatment and DC logo. These covers took a lot longer than I expected to create, but I'm mostly pleased with the results... some were more successful than others.
Apparently the producers would have liked to, but Union regulations prevent them from re-editing the episodes into a seamless feature. Since each episode of the crossover is using the crew from each individual show, it would probably violate contracts (or require additional compensation to the cast and crew) to combine all of the footage together into a new format. That's just my speculation with absolutely zero knowledge of how those things actually work.grouss wrote:QUOTE (grouss @ Jun 27 2020, 03:55 AM) That's awesome ! I love those... I wish they made "movies" versions of those crossovers. Anyway thanks for the fantastic jobs Kernie !!
As it stands, I don't mind the way that Crisis on Infinite Earths has been presented on the bonus disc that came with Arrow: Season 8 (which got an earlier blu-ray release because the shorter season ended before than the rest). It's not a big deal to skip credits, and I actually like having a nice breaking point in case I need to stop and pick it up later.
Yeah, Grant Gustin looks fine in the Arrow costume, but Amell just looks awkward in the Flash suit. I think it's because the Flash suit is meant for a taller, leaner, runner's physique. Amell is in great shape, but he's shorter, more muscular, and has broader shoulders. It just didn't quite work... and Amell has apparently even admitted that running on a greenscreen treadmill in the Flash suit was some of the most embarrassing things he's had to do.sauron wrote:QUOTE (sauron @ Jun 27 2020, 06:48 PM) It looks so strange seeing Stephen Amell as The Flash lol

Since my keyart tends to get obscured by my Comic Collection template, I thought I'd post the full versions below (albert in a lower resolution to prevent being "borrowed" and reused by others).
Here we go...
Invasion! Keyart
A few little details to note here... I actually started learning how to do cloth simulations in Cinema 4D so that I can start creating custom capes for my super heroes. For years, I've just been recoloring and warping curtains and fabrics when I needed to do cape replacements, and I was never quite happy with the results.

The cape on the left side of Supergirl is my first attempt at using 3D cloth dynamics to get the look I wanted. It's still not perfect, but it's an exciting new realm for me in which I can rotate and adjust the cape and the wind/physics affecting it to best match the character's pose! Also... note the "Hall of Justice" from SuperFriends in the background (which is just the Cincinnati Museum Center that the show used as reference)!

Crisis on Earth-X Keyart
This one was the biggest (somewhat self-inflicted) challenge for me. The only real promotional material for this crossover were these two posters:
[attachment=43871:earthx_1.jpg] [attachment=43872:earthx_2.jpg]
So the task I created for myself was to use these two flat images as my only resource for the characters. I did not want to pull any images of Flash, Arrow, or Supergirl from another piece of art, as it would not really fit the "face-off" composition of the heroes vs. their Earth-X counterparts. The difficulty came from extracting each character and filling in the overlapping areas so that I could reposition them. After a lot of masking, cloning, and adjustments, I had each of them ready to go...

And was eventually able to combine them into the keyart you see below...

Elseworlds Keyart
Probably the easiest of the four pieces of keyart. Just had to extract each character from the original promotional posters and rearrange them. Overall, I'm happy with the results (even if Amell looks silly in the Flash suit).

Crisis on Infinite Earths Keyart
The idea of doing covers for the crossovers came about because I was incorporating the Crisis characters into the keyart of each individual season. By the time I was done with the five different season sets, I had most of these characters already cut out in one shape or form. Combining them into an arrangement that worked was the biggest hurdle. I wanted the "big three" (in the case of the CW, it's Arrow, Flash, and Supergirl) front and center, with the stars of the other major shows (White Canary from Legends, Black Lightning, Batwoman, and the upcoming Superman & Lois show) just off to the sides. Then it was a matter of including some other prominent characters to fill in the space. The end result borders on (or possibly tips onto the side of) clutter, but I think it works well enough...

Thanks again to everyone who continues to comment and support this collection! I hope to have more surprises in store in the future (although with some of the stuff you're also probably expecting)!
