Kernie's Weekly Cover Update #5: Birds of Prey: And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn!

I hope everyone is staying home and staying healthy, whether you live in the "coronavirus epicenters" or not. Schools are closed and my township is currently under a "Shelter in Place" order. Like many of you, I'm spending quality time with the kids, making some covers, and watching some movies that have been on my watchlist.

Thanks to the early digital release in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, I was able to watch Birds of Prey a few days ago... it was sort of in the same tone as Suicide Squad, but it felt like it was actual movie that wasn't hacked apart in post-production. It's wasn't bad... it wasn't great. I liked Ewan McGregor's Black Mask and the fight scenes were well done. Unfortunately, Warner Bros still thinks the way to make a movie more "edgy and mature" is to pack in the same sophomoric humor and needless vulgarity/violence that we've been seeing in the DC Universe animated movies and the new Harley Quinn animated series. Hey WB... saying the "F word" for no reason doesn't make your content more adult... in fact, it has quite the opposite effect!

Anyway, I'm done ranting for now...

As I was working on the cover for the new Birds of Prey movie, I looked back at my old cover for the 2002 Birds of Prey television series and I cringed. So I decided to make an updated version of the Birds of Prey 2002 cover as well, along with a Blu-ray edition... even though an HD version of the show doesn't exist... but just in case it ever does, there's now a cover for it!

Not to make light of this very serious situation, but if there's one good thing to come out of this global pandemic, it's that I'm going to have many, many more weeks worth of covers to share!

And yes, Hellboy (2019) is among them... as well as revised versions of Hellboy (2004), Hellboy II: The Golden Army, and maybe even Hellboy Animated.

The Addams Family (2019), and revised versions of 90's Addams Family and Addams Family Values (with a new Blu-ray edition) are on their way as well!

And much, much more!
