Thanks, Heartlight! My son is now 18 months old, and my daughter will be a month old on Saturday. Things are a little noisy in the Kern house right now.Hearttlight wrote:QUOTE (Hearttlight @ Jun 12 2019, 06:41 AM) Life got busy and I lost track of this thread. I had three months of covers to admire (dang, man, so much good stuff there! Thank you!) and apparently missed some big news. Congratulations on the birth of your daughter! How old is your first now? Feels like it's only been a year or so!
I hope to start sharing some new covers soon... haven't had much of a chance to turn on my laptop at home recently. I'll be on summer break starting next week, and hopefully I can find some time for covers while the kids are sleeping.
This evening at San Diego Comic Con 2019, Marvel Studios announced their film and TV plans for Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe...
Here's a look at the films and streaming series coming our way in the next few years!

Conspicuously absent from this announcement are Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (which will shoot after James Gunn finishes directing The Suicide Squad for WB), Black Panther 2 (director Ryan Coogler is currently working on a script), Captain Marvel 2 (it made a billion dollars, so it's definitely getting a sequel), and a third MCU Spider-Man movie (which is probably Sony's call to announce).
It's also a bit surprising that this will be the first phase to not include an Avengers team-up film. With Endgame about to top Avatar as the #1 worldwide film of all time, I can't imagine that Disney/Marvel will let the Avengers name sit dormant for too long.
So, while Marvel is busy announcing things, I figured I'd do the same, so here we go...
I took some much-needed time with my family over the last two months... chasing around a toddler and taking care of a newborn baby girl, and it has been awesome. Surprisingly, both children are excellent sleepers, so that gives me some time each night to kick back, relax, and mess around in Photoshop.
As a result, Kernie's End-of-Summer Cover Extravaganza will be back for Year #2 starting on Monday, August 12th!!
I want to take a few more weeks to finalize some covers I have in the pipeline before I start sharing some new stuff, but you can expect at least a solid month of new covers uploaded on a daily basis. What covers are coming, you ask? You'll just have to check the site to find out!
(One thing I will say is... much like my cover for Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame is going to be another massive undertaking and will sadly not be completed until sometime later this fall.)
So check back starting Monday, August 12th for more covers in the Comic Book Collection! Until then, enjoy the rest of your summer!
