The Thin Red Line
The problem with the soldiers size is all the negative space around them. Something I've learned recently with Kernie is that you need to balance everything to avoid the negative spaces that your layout give you at the moment.
Below you can see the negative space inside the red box and you can also see inside the white box the huge text block that you should avoid.

I don't think you need the Academy Award text, but I know you like the retail style... just remember that sometimes less is better. Also, go take a look at Bunny's The Natural cover and try something for the top names like he did. I don't think that having all the text with the same color is your best solution, but it's up to you and what you prefer.
Sorry if I'm being soooo picky but you have a lot of potencial here, and I think you can and will do a great cover if you take a few points in consideration.

For me, it's definitely the white text - because I think it draws your eye, and really the title is the most important piece of information on the cover.
I think that would be my only tiny crit, I agree with akrflip about slight imbalance of the layout, but do think that can be subjective - however the hierarchy of info feels a bit confusing.
The academy award nominations feel strange bing in between the cast and the title. Personally, don't think you need it - but if you did I think it needs seperating from these bits so you can follow the text blocks a little easier at a glance.
I've attached how I tihnk it could be balanced out a little better, but again I know it's subjective, but just wanted to share it with you.

Moving the award to the bottom is a great suggestion.
But I'd keep the title black. The colour matches the black parts of your image and you've enough space between the image and the text so I personally think it gets enough attention by the separation and the black coloured text is simply looking better. And I think I'd also keep the word red in the colour red as you had it in the beginning.
I also agree about the actor's names. You should follow Arks suggestion and have a look to some other covers and how make the colours a bit different.
As for the size of the image I think I see why you don't want to make it bigger. I personally think it's good as it is now. But there's still something looking wrong on the soldiers. The guy in front should be moved up so his head is above the others (compare it to the guy in the back, his head is lower then the others).

My MD Gallery
3 years was pass, and i gonna try again. Tried to follow the tips and suggestions maded.
Changed actor names to two colours like Ark said,
TT in white and red, like Fidi pointed, add choppers and some minor light fix.
Feels that i'm starting to get somewhere

Maybe use a condensed font and keep the title on one line?
