Your Vertigo cover is the most original custom cover i've seen in years. Well done! :)

I appreciate that and admittedly wondered as well, even in a month like this where everyone did a nice job. Hopefully it's just because the voters are sick of me, rather than the covers. :)

Thanks, Paris! I was particularly enthusiastic while designing it and am heartened to hear you enjoyed the result!

Thank you again for your comments. After 10 unsuccessful months in a row of attempting to secure an elusive 10th HRC win, it's nice knowing some of you guys still liked the covers.

Both covers are brilliant pieces of work, but the one for The Natural blew me away as soon as I saw it.

Perfect balance on the colour palette, and the layout on the back is something else. One of my all time favourites immediately. As soon as I saw it I went and stuck the film on.

Awesome covers Tim! It's incredible how you manage to do such with almost nothing!
I really envy your talent, it's always a pleasure when you present us with new covers!

Can't wait to see your cover for this month competition (hoping you'll enter again).

That Vertigo Cover is Graphic Design at its very best form! Composition, colors (especially the red-green contrast), the background texture, everything is just great. At the same time, one can spot some analogies to classic Saul Bass works. The only thing that slightly bugs me is the (weird) placement of the tower on the back.

The voting results convinced me I must be doing something wrong, but positive comments from my favorite designers feel like evidence I must be doing something right. :)

Wow, I can't imagine a better compliment! Thanks!

It bugs me, too. The front arose from a "need" to combine Kim Novak's silhouette, the bridge, and Jimmy Stewart lifting her out of the water. The pieces had to fit together. The back was just trial and error to build something somewhat matching ("It should be based around Jimmy Stewart... what other elements can go here?"). Shape-wise and content-wise, it felt like the best piece to include out of what was available but never really formed into more than that.

It wouldn't be nearly as smooth and confident as the ones Bazzah and yoniweisberg posted, but I'll see if the computer can handle a screen capture program running. :)

The way I did mine was to hide all the layers and turn them on one by one while recording the screen, might work that way for you?
