I've not seen the film so can't help much regarding the film but there are a lot of names on the front - maybe reduce to the main actors?

The tagline also need an s added to the end of Fight so it reads Every Man Fights His Own War.

That's looking very promissing!

I'd increase the width of the title so it's the same as the group of soldiers standing on the gras and move the tagline down to the black area.
As sauron says the actors names look a bit to much at the moment. If you want to name all of them maybe reduce the size of the letters, put the surnames in the line under the first names and string them from the left to the right across your front in the middle between the title and the heads.

I really like the bottom image, that's looking great! Only thing I can suggest here is that the grassland is looking to detailed compared to the size of the soldiers. The single blades of grass should be smaller and more dignified I think. :)

Very promising start. I too am not a fan of the actor names. How about increasing the size of the characters and title, and reducing or removing the actor names?

I agree w Bzzzz about the actor's names. Try them in all capitals.

As for the color, i think its much too warm a color for this bleak war drama. Something pale instead perhaps?

My personal feeling is that the colour scheme and type face feel a little bit too much like what you'd expect for a war film, The Thin Red Line sets itself a part from the majority of war films in being quite thoughtful and I agree with JollyRoger in that a different colour scheme might suit better. Or perhaps a cleaner, more elegant typeface.

I also think the geography of the soldiers in the artwork is difficult to understand. I think a couple of the guys at the front are a bit further forward than the rest, but because I can't see their feet they just feel very short.

They're subjective things, and perhaps I'm just already attached to the Kellerhouse Criterion artwork, which is just delightful in my opinion.

Objectively I think there are too many names on the cover and because of sheer quantity they wind up creating a big block which draws the eye more than anything else, which doesn't feel right.

I've been busy lately.
The retail covers that i know for this flick, all of them have the names of the actors.

An update/attempt:
--Pale colour,
--Diferent typografy
--Names out
--A little change on grass (far right)...not happy yet.
--Tag at bottom.

I think it looks better now, maybe make the TT a little bigger, it doesn't really stand out when the 7 is as big as the TT it self. I also think it looks kinda empty atm, are you planning on adding some fading silhouettes like in the two posters above?

I agree, it does look better now but how about making the guys a little larger and making the 7 academy smaller as the white make it stand out a lot more which takes your eyes away from the TT... Maybe something like this?

Thanks for the replies...a small update of the "7 academy" placement and actors names.
Doesn't look that empty now.
Better?
