The problem is always that the host they are using has removed the images, or is just slow. Most poeple use imageshack. Do you have your own web space from your ISP? If so, I would always advise to use that first, before a freebie.

yes have space(between my ears mainly)but wouldn't know where to start.

i understand what your saying about host problems, but it seems to just be a problem with [IPB] images. chefjoe posted a wip for army of darkness at 2.26 am today...i cant see it,but i can see the 2nd one he posted at 4.42 am. thats what im talking about, and its frustrating seeing comments and not being able to see the image.

my personal preference is image shack, they always display for me.
if you register (just supply a valid e-mail address) you have full control over everthing you upload,so you can delete previews when the threads closed.

[IPB] stands for Invision Power Board (The forum software) It is basicaly just the forums way of telling you there should be an image there, without showing you the dreaded red X winking.gif

I suppose the red x is prettier, 8824.gif, but not as exciting as viewing someone's cover 8824.gif

Ok, I been thinking about what you said Bazzah about using the webspace you might have with your ISP, how would one go about using it.

I always use my own webspace for cover previews which I get through my ISP. You should be able to go to your ISP's website, log in and go to your account and there should be a guide somewhere to using your webspace. I use comcast here so my webspace is something like this hxxp://home.comcast.com/username/filename
Once you are set up you can usually use the ISP's software to upload your stuff or use an ftp program like CuteFTP (that's what I use), it's pretty easy to use.

Yeah, what he said! 8824.gif

If you are unsure, email your service provider, and ask them if you have any web space, and if so, can they tell you how to access it. They normaly have tutorials on using their software.

I use http://ww1.pureupload.com/
It's free to open an account very easy to use generates the img tags for your file for site linking and the added bonus is you get 100 mb of space and also 3 gb a month bandwidth for the images may not seem alot but when hosting previews that are around 100-200 kbs it's pretty much ideal.
Plus when you log in it shows how much bandwidth you have used currently and reset every month.

Went with this site due to imageshack removing images without any warning and for no reason and photobucket keeps screwing up when you uploading a similar image under different name but never ever gets uploaded.

pureupload.com all the way for meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
