I dont think the sky needs the yellow tint and i think maybe some more explosion where kong is snapping the helicopter in half?

Agree with Clint in both points.

What would the title look like in a brighter colour centered at the bottom?

Title at the bottom works much better I'd say. The only problem is the big (nearly) black area wich is about 25% of the front.

I loved the scene when Kong throw a tree into one of the helicopters. Great to see you've rebuild that! :)

I think there's too many helicopters, not sure if it was this many in the movie even (haven't seen it). What about boats? Was there boats in the movie? That would make the front more dynamic. If you end up not using this for the front, then the hand would probably work great on the back, with one or two helicopters.

In the movie there are about 10 in total, maybe even more. Didn't count them. What bothers me is that they are copy-pasted and hence perfectly aligned, like a flight squadron ^^ It just looks unrealistic. However, for the cover you don't need to show that many IMO. I'd suggest using only 2 of the lower choppers (slightly rotate one of them) and 1 of the upper ones (in the film, they only have 1 of these). The one that got hit by a palm tree looks cool. Keep it.

The chopper crashing into the water doesn't have the correct perspectival height. It's right in between the two rocks, filling the gap which is about 50m, compared to the rocks. So the chopper should A) be moved a bit down (towards the title) or B) reduced in size.

Since the sun light is coming from behind, I would add some rim light on the rocks. Like this:
