Hey all!! So, here is my Phone Booth cover and it's matching label!
To follow the great idea of Tim (and Kernie with other covers), I decided to also show a few of the elements that went into this design. As well provide some of my design details. I have always found a great deal of value when seeing others do this, so I figured someone might appreciate it here too....
The hardest portion of the cover was using Puppet Warp to change the perspective of the street image to match that of the booth for the front design (this fix isn't really noticed in the final design, but I felt better knowing it was correct). The spiral of words on the front had to be done line-by line. For those who don't know the movie, this is Colin's main speech from the film. Plus, all my text on the front cover needed to follow the same spiral to mimic the focusing of the gun's aim right at Colin's head. The text is barely readable, but that is intentional, as I din't want it to cause a distraction on the front cover. Rather, it is there just to add a subtle addition to the imagery on the front. To go along with that spiral I used a few other speeches from the movie on the rest of the cover; Since much of the film revolves around conversations and talking, I thought it would be important to incorporate some of the dialogue into the cover.
All the glass on the front of the cover came from the one image shown in the preview (the screens came from the other, less detailed one). Because there was only so much glass in that image, I had to manipulate and adjust and re-use some of them to cover all four corners, while not showing any noticeable repeats. A blur and re-texture effect was also placed under the glass to simulate a slight distortion of the imagery and text underneath, just as glass sometimes does. A similar effect was also used on the bullet streams on the back.
The image of Forest and the other cop on the back needed to be assembled from two separate screenshots I took of the movie. This is because I wanted to use the entire set of lights on the police car, but the whole thing wasn't in frame when he was holding his gun up. The film dialogue underneath them is taken from that exact moment in the movie.
Oh, and because I am so OCD, the gun Kiefer is holding on the back is the exact one used in the film, as are the bullets near the bottom. The Phone handset and cord are both actual ones used in most phone booths (my previous set-up for that section only used a old style curly cord).
This was by far the most intricate cover I made to date. I've never used so many layers, Photoshop effects, masks on top of masks or custom image assembly on one cover. Plus Photoshop kept glitching, and changing some of my images on me, adding white squares to random parts of the cover.
Okay, that's all for this one!
Later!
P.S.: There is one little secret on the cover, that I think hardly anyone will notice... Only someone with a keen eye and a knowledge of this movie will catch it!!

Great work Brad, I did suspect you as the creator, you are one of the few I know of that works at this level that will get creative with the back layout in this way -- the logos for example above the credits, the angled barcode, tilted logos on the spine, plus I follow all your work and I know you favor the one line logos no matter where you put them...
Congrats on your victory
Congrats on your victory

Thank a bunch RR and Sauron for the kind words!!!
And thanks CT!
I figure most designers can tell when I make a cover, and that's a good thing... I like that each designer has a signature style that shows through on all their covers, even if subtitlly... So I m glad I do too! And, yea, I have always tried to make my back covers as unique as my fronts. I know it's not for everyone's taste, but it's what I like to do to be different... I am a little odd, and so are most of my cover designs, haha!!

Hey guys!
So, here is my cover plus matching label for Jurassic World.
After submitting it for the competition, I decided to tweak it more, and make things a bit better. Mainly, I adjusted a bunch of the colours to create a wider pallet across the cover. You'll notice another character added to the back too. I thought that area was too densely filled with just text, so the addition of Claire from the T-Rex scene made a much needed improvement (IMO). I also read the comments from the judges, and made a couple of additional changes... Mainly stealing the bar code paper from Rex, and hiding it on him (haha).

Oh, and after seeing an animated GIF from another designer on the Blu-ray.com cover forum, I thought I'd give it a try for myself. This looping video shows my layer additions in progress.

The final version and it's matching label are now in the gallery: HERE
Cheers!

Thanks Baz! and, not a problem, it's kind of fun watching them!
Haha, of course you do! I may just have to make a special 'Bazzah Exclusive Edition' of the cover with Rex's barcode!
