sandman000 wrote:QUOTE (sandman000 @ Jan 19 2016, 05:51 PM) Many many thanks for the marvelous covers. Just wondered if you ever thought about doing complete series covers for tv series / animation that have already ended? For example you would have lets say spider-man 1967 complete series, season 1, 2 & 3 covers.
No, sorry. I realize that my collection is terribly inconsistent (some shows are done by season, others grouped into complete series sets). There are a variety of reasons behind my decisions...

- Some shows have been released in seasons or volumes on Region 1 DVD and I'm trying to stay close to their official release patterns (ex. Batman: The Animated Series, Teen Titans Go!, 90's X-Men). This is the case with most of the shows in my collection.

- Some shows have more seasons/episodes than would realistically fit into one DVD case, making a complete series cover somewhat impractical (ex. Smallville, Ninja Turtles, Sabrina).

- Some short-lived shows have never had an official DVD/Blu-ray release, so I'm left to speculate on how to make a cover for them (The Mask animated, Nightman, Tales from the Cryptkeeper). In these cases especially, there is usually limited artwork and resources to make a single cover, let alone multiple covers for various seasons.

I realize this creates inconsistency across my collection, but I'm trying my best to make covers that accommodate the majority, assuming the majority of people collect officially released DVD sets in Region 1. I know this doesn't work for everybody and I apologize for that. Given the size of the collection, I know I won't please everyone and, as Darksaber said, I also don't plan on going back and reorganizing previous covers.
RRJR84 wrote:QUOTE (RRJR84 @ Jan 19 2016, 07:16 PM) you ever considered G.I Joe? They were comics and i think the comics actually came out before the animated series just like transformers.
G.I. Joe... yes. Since the Joe franchise evolved from the Private Breger comics of the 1940's, I suppose they fall under the "gray area." And I might just have something up my sleeve... :D

Transformers... probably not. As far as I can tell, the toyline/cartoon/comic were all released somewhat simultaneously in 1984 as part of a big cross-platform campaign. Like the chicken and the egg, it's tough to determine which truly came first. Of the three, I think the comic was probably the least popular, so I'm inclined to say no to Transformers. But I guess I should never say never...
RRJR84 wrote:QUOTE (RRJR84 @ Jan 19 2016, 07:16 PM) also a double feature for the reb brown captain America (plz don't yell,lol)
I'm not going to yell, but I also don't want to start doing double-features, spacesavers, etc. I understand that the only way those old Cap movies were released were as a double-feature, but I just can't figure out a way to do double-features in my template in a way that satisfies me. I also fear this will open the door to more double-feature requests (Hellboy 1 & 2, Dark Knight trilogy, etc.) As I explained to sandman above, I'm not very eager to go back and reorganize old covers. It's also the godforsaken Reb Brown Captain America movies you're concerned about. :D :D

It would epic to see some nice g.i. joe covers, especially for the 80's cartoon series and few other g.i. joe stuff lol

Transformers i totally understand i was throwing it out there.

As for the reb brow i know its pain and i was even more mad when i bought the retail to find out its all on 1 disc. i kept my vhs transfers just to keep your covers. I also understand that its a gateway invitation but i personally for me only (can't speak for everyone else ) don't need space savers for everything else. Your dark knight trilogy is already a masterpiece. I only asked for captain america since you did for the dark knight animated movie parts 1 &2. i'm not picking either if you did deiced to do it. any of the pics you;ve already used would work.

Either ways always looking forward to whatever you do next via comics or any covers.

With Dark Knight Returns: Part 1 & 2, WB officially released Part 1 first, then Part 2, then eventually the combo Parts 1 & 2... with unique keyart for each release. It was a fairly easy situation due to the unique keyart and the fact that it fell under one title treatment "The Dark Knight Returns."

For double-features like the Cap movies (or Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight & Bordello of Blood - also released on DVD as a double feature), it's slightly trickier. Do I use both title treatments? If so, how do I fit both on the front cover and the spine? Do I use both keyarts, trying to cram both into the "open tear" on the front of my template?

Simply put, I just don't feel that my template is set up in a way that easily allows for double-features. Maybe I'm wrong and I just need to put some more thought into it, but I've been trying to dodge the issue because again, I fear it will open the flood gates. You cited a precedent yourself with my Dark Knight Returns cover and I get a lot of PMs along the lines of "well, you did cover A so I think that means you should also do cover B too."

Sometimes I feel like everything I do is instantly followed up with, "Thanks for these 10 covers but when can I get 30 more?"

Best thing I can say is I'll take a look at the Reb Brown Cap covers and see if there's anything I can easily do to combine them that doesn't involve major adaptations to the template.

Love you work so much, just wondering if you would consider releasing covers for films released in 3D with the 3D logo part of the title?
I usually add it in myself for my collection. I use them on my catalogue of films.

Thanks! I'm honored that you've chosen my covers for your catalogue! :D :D

As for adding the 3D, I have considered it in the past, but realized that it wasn't worth making an entirely separate cover just to have a "3D" next to the title. So I decided not to do it.

Sorry if it means that you have to add it yourself. :(

in the beginning i was anxious for more and more covers cause i had never seen anything else in the entire like your collection. I also assumed you just cranked these bad boys instantly, but after taking on covers myself and looking into resources for rare covers i realized that was not the case.

Either way I'm a die hard fan of your work and ive gone outta my way to use as much of any of your works as i can. your a phenomenally artist and inspiration to all and to any comic fan who makes to make their own comic collection

Not a problem, I just know that you would do it far better than I can. :lsmile:
