I also think you should center the background wall to reduce tension and move the character more left to arc the path of the eye?
Thanks for your thoughts and suggestions, Paris! That's something I went back and forth on quite a bit: Since the photo wasn't shot dead-on, do you center based on the wall hangings, or the pillars, or the windows, or the center of the windows, etc.?
Centering based on Joan Fontaine seemed like a way to side-step that. Maybe doing something eye-catching to the "R" in "Rebecca" would balance things out? (I'll probably work on the position and title treatment more next, as your suggestion has me re-thinking the placement. )
