I think you can keep it simple if you like.
Perhaps add a little balance to the back like maybe a tagline on the top back, pretty sure this is a Paramount Picture, so clean up the logos on the spine and also I'm not sure you "need" a different font on the front, you could just better match the spine font to the one on the front, for example:

For me the effects are a bit strong on this but if you like it...

Yes, it's all a matter of personal taste. I think that applies to all. Some like blondes, others brunettes, others asians. Well, i like them all! Hehe
Ctaulbee, yes, thats reallly what i was aiming for and your mini tagline says in so few words the essence of the movie. Great one. Yes, i think it's paramount.
Thanks, i like it a lot as it is, as you put it in your example. I know, again, this is a matter of taste but if i put in the credits and barcode it would feel off, i tgink. Where would i put them, and better yet how would i put them on your example so it feels cohesive?
I don't see a way.

yeah, that definitely looks better to me while still maintaining a minimal approach.
Every cover doesn't need to follow the same set of ''rules''.
Thanks guys. I think i'll adopt wessim's back layout.
After all you vuys are the designers and have better eye for. If anyone has any final comments I'll take this wip as not in progress anymore and consider it a fw(finished work).
Arigato everyone

Your absolutely right Sauron also to much noise/grain for my taste and actually i smoothen that up a little and added some color to it.
But somehow i didn't saved that file and ended up with this.
