Should alienmem be promoted to contributor?

To be fair, he has worked very hard on these scans. I have lost count of the amount of times they have been rejected, but he has never argued with my reasons for rejections. As a contributor he will of course still have his uploads monitored, but do you think his quality has reached a point that is worthy of being in the gallery?

The scans he has put into his proving thread look good but there are a few marks on some of the covers I spotted, I think if he double checks for any blemishes or marks then I don't see why he shouldn't, as long as the covers stay to a high quality.

The current guidelines don't provide me with a reason to vote no but I don't believe he has much interest in becoming a contributing part of the community, he just wants what he wants, right now no less lol, once he gets that we will see less of him I think.

Then again perhaps I'm wrong, time will tell.

Yeah I got that impression too. But after he tried so hard to improve, I started to hope he may be a regular contributor. As you said, time will tell

I voted yes but the quality of his scans can be easily improved with a little more effort.

I know nothing about scans, but his contributions look ok to me. He has to contribute regularly or he'll lose his status. So yes from me too.

At first i thought no, but after reading al the other comments, i would say it's good "enough" So it's a yes from me

I had lots of PM's with him explaining how to scan. Then I find out that his scanner is basic.
I told him to work on one cover... and only one so he can improve it..... He never did it. He went and did at least 30 scans at the time and asked me to comment and help.

After a few days, I got fed up and told him he needed another scanner.

He went into WIP and.... got the same answer.

So now he goes to Bluesnow to get help.... but in the meanwhile, he manages to upload a bunch of covers that are more or less acceptable. (I deleted more thant 20 in the reject album)

My feeling.... a few of those scans in the proving post.... not from him.

Like CT posted.... I don't believe he has much interest in becoming a contributing part of the community.

After reading your comments I thought I'd vote NO/NOT YET.
But in the end everybody deserves a chance and maybe he'll do what's expected by a contributor.
And like V said, he'll lose his status if he does not. So yes for me as well.
