Thanks sauron, but don't jump the gun... lots of great covers from some exceptional artists this month and throughout the year... and still plenty of time for more greatness. But thank you for the vote of confidence!
Avengers: Age of Ultron
Very good! This might be a terrible idea but how how Ultron and/or his drones look in blue with red rim lighting from the explosion to add more color contrast?

Not a terrible suggestion at all, Paris! I was a bit skeptical until I tried it, but I mixed a little more blue back into the metallic parts of Ultron and his sentries and I do think the contrast against the red helps to make them pop. Was this what you had in mind?

Glad it kind of works!I was thinking something like this but I realized that atmospheric haze works better for the drones, but I'm sure you could make the atmosphere waaay look better than this quick fix.
and I think more of a red tone on the drones would improve it as well.

Don't the drones have blue eyes and other internal parts though?

I'm not sure where Paris is getting the bright blue Ultron from, personally I think he's either a silver or gun-metal colour, and it's only the reflection of the light or situation he's in where he may look blue.

I like the "After" shot, perhaps with a little more brightness added to make him standout and be a little more reflective than the drones

Sorry Paris, but I don't care for this direction. As Darksaber pointed out, Ultron isn't blue but more of a silver/gun-metal and reflective of his surroundings. Based on lighting and environment, there's no reason for him to be that saturated with blue in your example.Darksaber wrote:QUOTE (Darksaber @ Jul 12 2015, 07:38 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Don't the drones have blue eyes and other internal parts though?
Not always. Sometimes blue, sometimes red. Not sure what makes the distinction... blue for regular mode, red for battle mode? I find the red to be more aggressive/menacing/evil/whatever... so I'd prefer to stick with red.

Perhaps I'll try a mix of blue on the drones and red with Ultron (I don't believe Ultron Prime ever had blue lighting in the film) and see how it looks. Although like I said above, I think I prefer red across the board... it's more threatening. Blue is calm/cool... red is war/fire.
Thanks guys for the input! I appreciate the debate! You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Thanks, ctaulbee!
For comparison... blue Ultron sentries vs. red Ultron sentries?
I'm still voting red... the blue ones seem like they're in rest mode. The reds seem like they're synced with Ultron and ready to strike! Having them in two different colors separates Ultron from his army and loses the "all-connected" sense.
