Thanks ctaulbee, Bunny Dojo, cas, bajeeZa, topmeasure, RRJR84, and JollyRoger! I appreciate you taking the time to comment, it means a lot!

It has been far too long since I've done a non-Comic Collection cover. Hopefully I'll find the time and ambition soon. The collection covers are much easier and (mostly) relaxing to work on since the general layout has been established.
The keyart for TMNT is something I put together myself, so perhaps I'll expand upon that onto a full cover (if the movie ends up being decent, of course).Darksaber wrote:QUOTE (Darksaber @ Jul 31 2014, 05:43 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Oh not to forget Yor and Tamara Drew, Yor not seen in a long time, seem to remember a cheesy 80's space/barbarian lol, nice clean keyart, great TT. Tamara Drew, I doubt I'll be into, screams Chick Flick to me, I'm not dissing the cover, looks great![]()
Sabrina, again not a fan of but nice clean covers that match the rest.
I know Tamara Drewe and the Sabrina covers won't be everyone's cup of tea. Frankly, they are not appealing to me either; I've never seen a single episode of Sabrina in any incarnation. But that's the fun of this collection – and being any kind of designer in general – is taking something that you have zero interest in and finding a way to become interested in it and creating something that you're happy with. I'm sure anyone who's ever done any paying design work has experienced this.Darksaber wrote:QUOTE (Darksaber @ Jul 31 2014, 05:43 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>There was a few other covers I was hoping for, but I can wait, plus I'm too frightened to ask![]()
Feel free to ask... I'm curious to know what you're still hoping for. I have my to-do list and am trying my best to track down suitable resources for some obscure films and shows. Unfortunately, every time I scratch something off my list, Hollywood goes and makes 10 more comic movies (it's a good problem to have)!![]()
I imagine the Flash Gordon serials are among them. I'm still trying to find a piece of keyart that I like and determine if I want to do a cover that contains all three serials (Flash Gordon, Trip to Mars, and Conquers the Universe) or separate them into three different covers (which would require three pieces of suitable keyart).
Also, I haven't forgotten about the PC conversion of the Arkham games, just haven't had the time/inclination to tackle them yet.RRJR84 wrote:QUOTE (RRJR84 @ Jul 31 2014, 07:48 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>excellent updates, really love the turtles, wasn't the turtles i was excepting yet but now i'm head of the game, lol
As for the Sabrina covers, its not an easy series to find but i think the covers are phenomenal, i'll check out the TV movies when i get a chance.
Finally!! A person who might want the Sabrina covers!![]()

If you're expecting the second season of the Nickelodeon TMNT series, I'm just waiting on the full episode list and then I'll start working on it. Hopefully I can get to it soon.

Thanks again to everyone who continues to support this collection. I can't believe it is still going all these years later and I'm amazed that there are still a few people who haven't gotten bored of it yet! You guys are the best!Last edited by Kernie on Thu Jul 31, 2014 2:49 pm, edited 1 time in total.

I agree with you, and sorry to say I have watched episodes of Sabrina, there not that bad to be honest, but they're not something I would think about adding to my collection lol. Don't get me wrong, I really appreciate you making all the covers and must admit I have downloaded most of the Sabrina covers, just to take a closer look, plus others must be happy with the Sabrina covers, though most haven't left a commented or smiley
but on average about 32 people have downloaded each of them

I must admit your on the ball, you've pegged me with the Flash Gordon serials, I don't expect them soon as you have mentioned resources are thin on the web, and the Arkham PC conversion.
A few others that might be already on you list are
Look, Up In The Sky! The Amazing Story Of Superman to add to the DC Documentaries
Superman: The Last Son Of Krypton
Justice League: Secret Origins
Now this is why I haven't asked (or have I??? "frowns" memories going) You will probably say that these two are already in the collection in there respective series.........
But.... both of these titles are made up of a few episodes creating a feature length episode, just like the Justice League: Starcrossed which you made a cover for![]()
So there's my argument, not much of one I admit![]()
So that's it, not a big list probably on your list already, maybe not, but if you hadn't had done Starcrossed I wouldn't have asked for these, so in a way it's all your fault really(Just kidding)
Oh nearly forgot The Green Hornet & The Green Hornet Strikes Again! (1940 & 1941 Film Serials) but this is probably due to the lack of resources just like the Flash Gordon Film Serials, but this as I expect will be on your list of to do's.
Oh and you probably know already the Iron Man & Captain America: Hero's United, was released the other day, but I haven't seen any DVD release date for it, or any keyart.

If you ever feel up to it Black scorpion movies and tv series would be cool, even though they were a comic 2nd and not first.
Ducktales was a comic book first and a series 2nd so that would be really cool to throw in at some point.
Model by Day (1994)
Weird Science (1985)
that's all i can think off

I'll look into adding this one if I can find suitable resources.Darksaber wrote:QUOTE (Darksaber @ Jul 31 2014, 03:27 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I suppose I shot myself in the foot by adding Starcrossed. Secret Origins won't be a problem, but I used the Last Son of Krypton for my S:TAS Volume 1 cover, so I have to search for some suitable keyart if I'm going to do that one.Darksaber wrote:QUOTE (Darksaber @ Jul 31 2014, 03:27 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Oh nearly forgot The Green Hornet & The Green Hornet Strikes Again! Yes, it is on my list. Still looking for resources and trying to determine to lump both serials into one cover or do them separately. Availability of resources might determine which route I choose.Darksaber wrote:QUOTE (Darksaber @ Jul 31 2014, 03:27 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Oh and you probably know already the Iron Man & Captain America: Hero's United, was released the other day, but I haven't seen any DVD release date for it, or any keyart.
Also on my list. I searched around and there is very little in the way of usable resources at the moment. Since this was a strictly-digital release, I am debating its inclusion since there are no retail DVD's/BD's to speak of for this title. Which is the same reason I have not done anything for Lego Marvel Super Heroes: Maximum Overload, which is currently streaming on Netflix.RRJR84 wrote:QUOTE (RRJR84 @ Jul 31 2014, 10:38 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>yes Nickelodeon TMNT series is what i'm waiting for the most atm,lol i thought the whole season was done already?

Only 22 episodes are listed for Season 2 at the moment. To my knowledge, the season will consist of 26 episodes, like Season 1. Still waiting on the remaining 4 episode titles.RRJR84 wrote:QUOTE (RRJR84 @ Jul 31 2014, 10:38 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>If you ever feel up to it Black scorpion movies and tv series would be cool, even though they were a comic 2nd and not first.
Nope. Comic came second, as you said yourself. I'm bending enough of my own rules, I'd prefer not to outright break them.RRJR84 wrote:QUOTE (RRJR84 @ Jul 31 2014, 10:38 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Ducktales was a comic book first and a series 2nd so that would be really cool to throw in at some point.
I hadn't considered this, but you bring up a good point. The majority of the characters (with the exception of Donald Duck's few cameos) in this series were all first introduced in Carl Barks' Disney-based comic books. I love Ducktales and all of the "Disney Afternoon" shows and this one technically does fit the criteria for the collection now that I think about it.
I think I will add Ducktales, the Treasure of the Lost Lamp movie, and Darkwing Duck to the collection. Darkwing technically did not debut in comic form, but since it is a spin-off of Ducktales (much like Zeta Project was a spin-off of Batman Beyond), I think it would be allowed. However, the other Disney shows (Rescue Rangers, Talespin, Goof Troop, etc.) will not be included, as the characters featured in those shows did not originate in comics. Sound good?RRJR84 wrote:QUOTE (RRJR84 @ Jul 31 2014, 10:38 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Model by Day (1994)
Weird Science (1985)
Weird Science, both movie and TV series, is on the list, despite being very loosely based on the comic anthology series. Model by Day is very obscure, but I guess it still fits the criteria. I suppose I can include it as well if sufficient resources are available.

In other news... last night my local drive-in movie theatre ran a double-feature of Guardians of the Galaxy and Captain America: The Winter Soldier! Guardians was pretty darn awesome! It's no Citizen Kane like some are proclaiming, but it is an absolutely fun and quirky summer blockbuster. I'm hoping to see it again in an actual theater soon. One of Marvel's best... which is especially impressive considering the characters are not well-known to the general public.
I'll leave you with a few spoilers for those who haven't yet seen it...
More info is given on the Infinity Stones, finally seeing Thanos speak was awesome, and don't forget to stay through the end of the credits for a great Marvel cameo![attachment=29277:thanos.jpg]

Thanks, to be honest I haven't seen any resources for it myself, but you have better contacts so hopefully they might help you out

Ah I didn't foresee that problem, if you can't find any different keyart, don't worry about a cover I didn't realise you used the keyart on Vol 1

I have the collectors set of the Green Hornet, which is in one case, I doubt even if I scan it, it won't be of much use to you, this is the front
[attachment=29278:green_hornet.jpg]
The same can be said for the cover of the Flash Gordon collection I have
[attachment=29280:Flash_Gordon.jpg]
I thought the Heroes United title might be on your listI didn't know Lego Marvel Super Heroes: Maximum Overload was a film I thought it was a game. lol
Anyhow I'll wait, I know it all comes down to what resources you can find.
Looking forward to the Darkwing Duck coversYou do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.Last edited by Darksaber on Sat Aug 02, 2014 12:35 am, edited 1 time in total.Who is online
