I don't know why, but it seems to me that Marvel Studios have a much better grasp on how to go around bringing the sometimes very flamboyant costumes to the big screen. While I love most of what Marvel did in their cinematic universe; I can't shake off how poorly other movie studios did it.
I mean think about Sabretooth in the first X-Men trilogy. Yuck!! The Green Goblin (both incarnations IMO, but with Dafoe as the best of the two). Or how about Quicksilver (not the Marvel Studios one, obviously; even tho their version ain't much better).
With this new Batman costume, sorta inspired by Frank Miller's Dark Knight costume in the 2nd half of The Dark Knight Returns (where Batman wears a uniform with a giant Bat symbol, without the yellow background), I guess we're about to see a brand new take on the character in the upcoming movie. I look forward to that. All respect to Nolan's trilogy, but in hindsight some of the characters didn't make the transition to the big screen too well in my personal opinion. I was never a big fan of the Bane costume, and while I have absolutely no complaints about some aspects of the Catwoman costume (the body suit; especially that precise moment we get to see her from behind while she mounts the Batpod). I didn't care too much about the poor mask/hairband/glasses tho. Think I would have preferred something closer to the mask in the Hush story arc.
Oh, and Superman's costume in MoS is sooo much better than what Brandon Routh wore in Superman Returns. What do you guys think?
