@ Auken... Darksaber's explanation pretty much sums up what I was going to say regarding Mortal Kombat... the comic book needs to come first. There have been a few slight exceptions (The Shadow and Green Hornet were technically radioplays first, Conan started off in adventure stories, etc.), but in each case, these characters were adapted into comics before the films/television shows/cartoons that followed. While there have been a few characters that fall into this "gray area," to the best of my knowledge, I have yet to fully break my "comic first" rule. I hope that is understandable regarding your request.

As for TMNT, I'll see if I can find high-resolution versions of those TMNT logos. If I can, I'll consider revising those two seasons when I find the time.

@ Darksaber... thanks for retracting the Darkman suggestion. Like I said to Auken, there are a few "gray areas" but Darkman would certainly break my rule.

And for the record, I would consider newspaper comic strips as adhering to the "comic first" rule. So, technically, this collection has the potential for such properties as Peanuts, Garfield, Dennis the Menace, Marmaduke, etc. At the moment, I'm choosing to focus on superhero comics (and comics that come in book form), but once I've taken care of the majority of those, I may choose to move towards the "Sunday Funnies" and titles of that nature. I feel that these comic strips certainly meet the criteria (even moreso than some of the "gray area" titles mentioned earlier) and it's where I might start to take this collection once the superhero stuff is taken care of.

Not to mention Conan, The Shadow, and Green Hornet are based more on the comics adaptations than the radioplays or pulp novels.

Precisely why I put them in the "gray area." :D :D :D

Thanks for helping to clarify, Punisherchad! :thumb:

@ kernie I don't always pay super detailed attention but, one thing i always closely examine in your TT's they hand down the best in the cover world. I absolutely love them, They're amazing.

As for the grey area's yeah like most people i would love to see you tackle those covers, cause i know beyond a shadow of a doubt they would be simple amazing but i can totally understand the work that it would take and time outta your life.

As for Flash Gordon, i haven't been able to find the whole series but i have the animated movie escape to mongo, so i still use the cover anyways :D

I got The phantom 2040 mainly to use your cover, but i do like the show. Something I try to do is get the shows or movies you make covers for so that like other people i feel your hard work pays off, most of the time i really enjoy everything i get either way,lol

As for the turtles i would love that too, i sent you a pm regarding the turtle TT's

I know the time you have invested to put this collection together has to be staggering.

Hey Kernie, quick question. Is there any way to revise Walking Dead Season 2 for a Viva Elite 5 disc case? I printed the cover but the spine looks funny as it has half of the back on it. Sorry for the inconvenience but I cant fit all the discs in the smaller case :(

I'll see what I can do. Might take a little bit until I find the time, a bit wrapped up with some other work at the moment. :D

Hey everyone... I'm back with several new additions to the Comic Book Collection, finally hitting my milestone 400th DVD cover in the series!

This collection started nearly four years ago on March 29, 2009, with the upload of X-Men: The Animated Series: Vol. 1. Since then, through the enthusiasm and support of Hirescovers members, this collection has grown to include everything from animated projects, live-action television series, motion comics, black-and-white serials, and blockbuster feature films, all based on comic book properties of some form. In case I never have officially said it, I just want to take a moment to thank all the incredible members who have continued to enjoy this series and have consistently given me the ambition and enthusiasm that I need to continue making covers in this template. While I might be the one toiling away in Photoshop, this collection would not be what it is without the kindness, generosity, and encouragement from the wonderful members of the HiResCovers community. Thank you for all of your support!

First up is the upcoming direct-to-DVD/BD animated film, Superman: Unbound.

[attachment=24964:dcuc_sup..._package.jpg]

Then, I was finally able to finish up my covers for Green Lantern: The Animated Series and Young Justice: Season 2 (subtitled Invasion). I had GL in the works for nearly a year until WB/Cartoon Network finally revealed a full episode list for the show. :P

Next up is the campy TV special Legends of the Super Heroes from the late '70s. Released on DVD from Warner Archive a while back... (a cover for the Cathy Lee Crosby Wonder Woman pilot is also in the works)
[attachment=24967:dcts_leg..._package.jpg]

Now onto Marvel-land with two Blu-ray conversions: the 1990 Captain America (due out on Blu-ray in April) and Howard the Duck (which I believe received a BD treatment in Europe).
[attachment=24968:bd_mfc_c..._package.jpg]
[attachment=24969:bd_mfc_h..._package.jpg]

From Marvel Animation, here's the upcoming animé film Iron Man: Rise of Technovore. From what I can tell, this is not a direct sequel to the Iron Man animé series from a few years ago, hence the different color scheme.

[attachment=24971:masc_iro..._package.jpg]

Marvel Motion Comics continue with Inhumans, due out later this spring from Shout Factory.
[attachment=24972:mmcc_inh..._package.jpg]

Now onto two Robert E. Howard characters who were adapted into live-action films... Solomon Kane and Kull the Conqueror!
[attachment=24973:bd_dhfc_..._package.jpg]
[attachment=24974:dhfc_sol..._package.jpg]

[attachment=24975:bd_mfc_k..._package.jpg]
[attachment=24976:mfc_kull..._package.jpg]

Next up are the DVD and Blu-ray editions of Heavy Metal and its sequel Heavy Metal 2000.
[attachment=24977:bd_hpfc_..._package.jpg]
[attachment=24978:hpfc_hea..._package.jpg]

[attachment=24979:bd_hpfc_..._package.jpg]
[attachment=24980:hpfc_hea..._package.jpg]

Finally, last but not least, are two incarnations of the Flash Gordon character... the 1996 animated series and the 2007 live-action Sci-Fi Channel series.
[attachment=24981:kfac_fla..._package.jpg]
[attachment=24982:kftc_fla..._package.jpg]

And here's a look at the entire Comic Book Collection, featuring 400 DVD covers and 162 Blu-rays!!
[attachment=24983:spines_d...series_1.jpg]
[attachment=24984:spines_d...series_2.jpg]
[attachment=24985:spines_d...series_3.jpg]

[attachment=24987:spines_d...series_5.jpg]
[attachment=24988:spines_d...series_6.jpg]

And more to come! Enjoy!! :D :D :D

I know it's a bit early... but here's Iron Man 3! I just couldn't resist after seeing the kick-a$$ new posters that have been trickling out for the film (and the new trailer, as well)! So, as the start of Marvel's cinematic Phase Two and the start of my next 400 DVD covers, I present Iron Man 3!

[Click the images to view the covers in the gallery]

And, as per Auken and RRJR84's request for revised TMNT 2003 covers for Season 6 (subtitled Fast Forward) and Season 7 (rebranded as TMNT: Back to the Sewers)... here they are. These were actually trickier than they might seem to update, so I would prefer to keep similar requests to a bare minimum, as I really don't have the desire, ambition, or time to go back and "revise" some of the older covers in the collection. In the case of Back to the Sewers, I also decided to revamp the keyart to something more befitting of Season 7's redesigned characters. Since I simply replaced the original files in the gallery, the previous versions of S6 and S7 are no longer to be found here at HiRes.

Still haven't forgotten about graves0777's request for modified Walking Dead Blu-rays, but I'll have to get to that later. I'm going to be wrapped up in other (non-cover) projects for the next month or two.

Current Comic Book Collection Count: 401 DVD's and 163 Blu-rays!!
