On the subject of Young Justice and Green Lantern, yeah it sucks the way Cartoon Network schedules the shows, but this seems to be WB's modus operandi when it comes to their animated properties. They're constantly making new shows based on DC characters, revamping them slightly/significantly every couple of years, and acting like they're going to treat the new shows with respect and dignity. Then they premiere, and after half a dozen episodes, CN pulls them from the line-up and doesn't air new ones for months at a time.

Justice League and JLU experienced the same schedule issues nearly 10 years ago now, around the same time when Kids' WB was revamping Batman with The Batman. Then both shows ended and we got Batman: Brave and the Bold, and not long after that we got Young Justice and Green Lantern, all of which WB and CN seemed proud of at first, then quickly started giving them the shaft.

Mark my words, the same scheduling problems and lack of respect from CN will most likely afflict Teen Titans Go! and Beware the Batman as well. WB and CN unfortunately have very little concern for the show's fans and really only look at how well the show's associated merchandise is selling.

Oh well, rant over... sorry.

bullet to the head staring sly stallone and two guns staring Denzel and Marky mark! Haven't seen either and one's not out yet but they were both a comic first, and I'm guessing the comic was better in at least one case if not both. This was a joke of course. There was some movie I remembered being a comic first but it's slipping my mind. It was a movie that really surprised me as having been a comic first, damn my mind! By the way killer comic book themed cover for cabin in the woods, reminded me of old creepy and erie books. Oblivion is based on a comic sold to radical that will be published before the movie. One of those things where they guy pitched a short film and a comic and they said yes to the movie so now the comic is coming out just before. I believe that's what happened with that Pathfinder the ghost walker or whatever Native American vs. Vikings movie with Judge Dredd in it.

Which titles among the ones you mentioned are you seriously looking to see added to the collection? Bullet to the Head? Oblivion? Pathfinder? Two Guns? I'm slightly confused by your post, sorry.

P.S. The Cabin in the Woods cover was meant to evoke the look of an old-school horror/grindhouse poster... not necessarily an old horror comic book. I guess I didn't pull it off right... I'll try harder next time.

No drinking just typing really stupidly...for fun and for profit! See, if I were properly articulate and made sense it wouldn't be nearly as much fun...for me.

I was joking about bullet to the head and two guns, just saying they'll turn ANY comic in to a movie now days (remember red and the surrogates). I don't even know if Oblivion qualifies, I'm pretty sure Pathfinder doesn't. Out of all of them I think Oblivion may be the only one worth a damn though.

Nope it is grindhouse, I should have looked closer at it, I read comics, s'what happens. Totally looks grindhouse...it's late...bed comes...after I watch Cabin in the Woods (forgot the The) again...great movie. Great covers, you are the master of designing them, hail be to you wicked awesome sir, hail be to you! :cheers:

Perhaps their toys would sell better if they were higher quality and not $15-$20 bucks, they had more YJ two packs of larger figures than carded cheaper singles, that's a mistake. You'll notice the trend with the last Batman flick and the new Iron Man 3 toys they have these little 3 3/4 figures without accessories that are $5, that's a good way to hook them. Those same size YJ figures were 14.99! Even the Marvel Legends have trouble selling at 14.99, the Star Wars Black toy line will be $20 each, they'll sell like gangbusters, that's a given. I wonder if them pulling GL and YJ was just an easy way to ensure they couldn't bounce back in the ratings and they could justify cancellation? It's a damn shame the GL cartoon is far better than the movie and the YJ cartoon is almost at the quality level of their direct to dvd movies. It really is about the merchandising for them they just can't get it going. We're finally seeing Disney put out some Ultimate Spider-Man toys after season 2 started; however, they are resonably priced and look to be of a much higher quality than the YJ toys. I may be mistaken but I don't even believe they did GL animated toys, not that they had very many characters to card. I also think that the animation cost and quality for GL hurt it too. They could have made it much more expansive and not so cold feeling if they did traditional 2D animation. I fear that the Beware the Batman cartoon will suffer the same fate. They just can't get out of their own way long enough for these shows to garner success after respect. Throw a prime time special or two out there like they do with Star Wars the Clone Wars. They really need to think ahead with that moving to Disney XD and they aren't, they're just banking on Batman being successful and Teen Titans Go to be on long enough to come up with the next flash in the pan.

Hey everyone... I'm back with several new additions to the Comic Book Collection, finally hitting my milestone 400th DVD cover in the series!

This collection started nearly four years ago on March 29, 2009, with the upload of X-Men: The Animated Series: Vol. 1. Since then, through the enthusiasm and support of Hirescovers members, this collection has grown to include everything from animated projects, live-action television series, motion comics, black-and-white serials, and blockbuster feature films, all based on comic book properties of some form. In case I never have officially said it, I just want to take a moment to thank all the incredible members who have continued to enjoy this series and have consistently given me the ambition and enthusiasm that I need to continue making covers in this template. While I might be the one toiling away in Photoshop, this collection would not be what it is without the kindness, generosity, and encouragement from the wonderful members of the HiResCovers community. Thank you for all of your support!

First up is the upcoming direct-to-DVD/BD animated film, Superman: Unbound.

Then, I was finally able to finish up my covers for Green Lantern: The Animated Series and Young Justice: Season 2 (subtitled Invasion). I had GL in the works for nearly a year until WB/Cartoon Network finally revealed a full episode list for the show. :P

Next up is the campy TV special Legends of the Super Heroes from the late '70s. Released on DVD from Warner Archive a while back... (a cover for the Cathy Lee Crosby Wonder Woman pilot is also in the works)

Now onto Marvel-land with two Blu-ray conversions: the 1990 Captain America (due out on Blu-ray in April) and Howard the Duck (which I believe received a BD treatment in Europe).

From Marvel Animation, here's the upcoming animÃ© film Iron Man: Rise of Technovore. From what I can tell, this is not a direct sequel to the Iron Man animÃ© series from a few years ago, hence the different color scheme.
