Sorry but I must be one of the lowest-common-denominators, as I enjoy watching it, personally I can't stand the Office, I didn't like the UK version either, I think Ricky Gervais is a complete ar5e and don't think Steve Carell is that funny either. Each person has here own opinions about different shows they watch, put it this way anything is better than watching Eastenders, Coronation Street or bloody Neighbours.
Oh and now I've just seen a bloody advert for Big Brother for feks sake, jezz when will they learn that no one wants this crap.
I didn't mean to offend you, DS... and that's why I added the "mostly" in my comment about lowest-common-denominators. I have a few friends and family who love Big Bang... I just don't see the appeal. But I do feel that the laugh track is there so that people too dumb to get the jokes will at least know when to laugh (and of course, I don't mean you when I say that).
And in all fairness, I can't stand the UK Office or Ricky Gervais either. And Steve Carell was annoying as hell in the US version, to the point where I almost stopped watching a few seasons ago, but stuck with it out of habit and because it's timeslot was surrounded by shows I liked better. The US Office had one really good season (Season 2) and it's been coasting on the fumes of that one outstanding year ever since.
As for Eastenders, Coronation Street, Neighbours, or Big Brother... being in the US and not watching much BBC, I have no idea what those are. But since you don't seem to like them, I'll avoid them as well.![]()

The Comic Book Collection by Kernie
I'm not offened,
watching BBT just fits in to the time slots when I don't like watching other rubbish, I know what you mean by the audience laughter though, it doesn't really bothered me, I just seem to subconsciously ignore it.
I agree with the Office though, they seem to be dragging the show out a bit, what they on now season 8/9? Even the Uk version only lasted 2 series.
Peeves me though that the shows you think are good, the bloody studios cancel, a few days ago I learnt that they had cancelled Sanctuary, which personally I enjoyed, I think it could have gone on for another season, even if was just to give the show closure.
Just grinds my cogs (Family Guy reference) lol
Also peeves me that each time you reply to a thread that it automatically subscribes you to that thread, but that's for the Mods to sort out, just wish that if you want to subscribe, that you can check the box, instead of it being checked already.

Either way, I like to find the humor for myself... not have it beaten over my head with a laugh track because Hollywood thinks I'm too stupid to get the jokes otherwise.
But anyway... I'm glad you like the new additions to the collection!![]()

Oh, and Darksaber... I totally agree with you about networks canceling good shows. They always think that the grass will be greener and the show that they replace it with will be the next big hit... instead of rewarding the fanbase that has supported that show all along. Shows need time to build a following, and nowadays, if a show's premiere doesn't pull huge ratings, it gets dumped. Seinfeld, The Simpsons, and The Office didn't find their footing until after their first season... and each of those worked out well for the networks. And don't even get me started on the ratings system... ugh. :PLast edited by Kernie on Mon May 28, 2012 7:33 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Here's hoping... but if the direction that Marvel/Disney took with Ultimate Spider-Man is any indication, I'm a little worried that they're canceling a good show to replace it with a mediocre version that is more interested in selling toys than telling good stories.
So far, I have not been impressed with USM, while A:EMH keeps getting better. I've seen the majority of S2, and I can't wait for the finale!![]()
I haven't seen any of USM yet neither S2 of A:EMH I usually wait until I have a full season before I watch them, I've watched S1 of A:EMH and really enjoyed it, and I've seen a few clips of USM and it looked a little corny/quirky. Avenger Assemble from what I've read just features the characters from the Avengers Film plus The Falcon as a new recruit.
It seems, there's also a new Hulk Animated series in the works called "Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H." and a new Teens Titans Go series which is a "comedic spin on the fan-favorite action/comedy Teen Titans animated series" which looks very poor. Why they can't just keep producing stuff in the format of Young Justice or A:EMH I'll never know.
A favourite saying is "if it ain't broke don't fix it", but DC or Marvel don't seem to relate to that too much. They seem to have a few series that are extremely good then they go of the rails and produce a series that is total tosh!
I've watched the first 13 episodes of Green Lantern Animated Series (which I thought was the full first season but apparently there are 26 episodes) and at first I was a little sceptical about it, I think due to the CGI format, but in the end I enjoyed watching it, I just wish they would show these series in there entirety instead of splitting the season up, but I've just read that it consists of 2 story arcs, so maybe that's the reason for that, or they just wanted to see how the first 13 episodes where received.
But the same goes for other shows, why are networks in the U.S. so slow at showing a complete series, when networks in Australia have been showing A:EMH on consecutive days. The states are on episode 9 with episode 10 slated for the 24th June, but in Australia the series final (26) will be shown by the 28th June. It's no wonder any series shown in the states start to get bad ratings due to the spanned out length of time between episodes, then the series gets canned.
Look at Eureka for instance you had season 4.0 then around a year later you had season 4.5, now they're on season 5 which is I assume is just to clear the story line up, but people loose interest in the shows between these stupid hiatuses another reason for low ratings and the eventually cancellation.
But I digress, I don't want to start a debate on the ratings system or the cancellation of decent shows, lol :S
I'm looking forward to watching S2 of A:EMH, the cover looks great Andy thank you once again

I didn't know they were canceling Avengers that sucks i really enjoy it. It much better than the 90's version.Season as gotten much better, but either way im almost up to date on watching it all and i really enjoy it. As for ultimate spider-man it's good but not great great. i enjoy the animation but i don't enjoy the cheesy moments like they did with teen titans, I also think that the addition of the new characters is cool but it's just a new cheesier version of spider-man and his amazing friends. Doc Ock looks like a sewer dwelling psychopath and they've changed a lot of the original stories.
Young Justice has gotten really really good imo, i very much enjoy it. It reminds me of the 90's justice league cartoon. As for green lantern, i wasn't really sure what to expect because of the cgi but it's actually pretty good, it's still tame compared some other shows but it's pretty good so far.
By the way great cover again Kernie, the retail cover we have in Canada sucks it's a giant spanning pic, i just don't like it personally
