Just curious what everyone pays to go to the movies, as we went to The Avengers last night it made me think, probably because I hate people arriving late and walking in front of me, then talking about which seat to sit in etc etc, also there was a bit of talking going on behind, not to much so I let it go but it annoys me, I don't like talking during the movie I like to watch and listen and if I can do that and enjoy the movie why do other people have to yak
and chat and text etc when they are in a movie they obviously want to see and have paid good money for?
Anyway, we paid $16.00 AUS a ticket, which converts to about 16.72 US and 12.62 Euro and 10.29 GBP
If we go to Gold Class it's about $25.00 or so per ticket, which I prefer if the wankers would actually show good movies in there instead of the exotic marigoild hotel etc....
So, what's the price everyone else pays?

Regular 2D movies here are $11, regular 3D is I think $16 and IMAX 3D is $18 (regular IMAX is $17) I think. And everything is about 2 dollars less if the show is before 6pm).
What I honestly don't get is why 3D is more expensive than regular 2D. Is it for the glasses? Because you're not buying them, you're suposed to return them after the show ends. What if you could buy your own pair and take them every time?

They do that here at the odeon cinema in Bridgend Wales, they charge you for the glasses, just £1, and if you bring your own then you get a discount every time you see a 3D film.QUOTEOWN YOUR 3D GLASSES
Save money - and the environment - with 3D glasses you can use again
Instead of throwing away your 3D glasses at the end of your film, bring them back to ODEON to watch your next 3D film saving you money and helping the environment by reusing your glasses.
Look after your glasses and they`ll look after you
Enjoy many happy viewings with your 3D glasses: just take good care of them by popping them back in the plastic packaging after you use them. If you do damage your 3D glasses don`t worry - replacing them only costs £1.
If the lenses of your 3D glasses become scratched or discoloured, this may affect your enjoyment of your 3D film. In these instances, we would recommend that you buy a new pair of glasses. When redeeming guest tickets, you may need to purchase your 3D glasses separately. Does not apply to IMAX ® 3D performances.[/quote]Last edited by easylife on Mon Apr 30, 2012 8:02 am, edited 1 time in total.
