Assuming that Hulk and Abomination are roughly the same size (which I think is safe to say), here is a comparison of a Gamma Monster to an Asgardian War-Weapon...
[attachment=20364:size_comp.jpg]
Now, there may be a size difference between Thor and Blonsky, but if you look at the image above, Blonsky comes up to about Hulk's abdomen, while Thor is about up to the Destroyer's chest, making Abomination roughly a head-and-a-half taller than Destroyer. Factoring in perspective, and that there's nothing to indicate just how far back the Destroyer is standing in comparison to Stane and the rest of the group, I think the size is about right.
That being said however, maybe the Destroyer could stand to be a little larger.
One thing though: check out the angle of those shots. the profile view of Hulk and Blonsky is perfect for size comparison, whereas the Thor/Destroyer is a poor image for judgement. Sure, Thor does come up to his chest in that pic, but the angle very very heavily favours him. In reality, were the camera to 'level out' Thor would be around his pelvis height. This pic is a bit better:
Anyway, I suppose the point is void when considering that Destroyer is not actually next to the group, but off in the distance somewhat. I thought I'd point it out nonetheless as something to bear in mind for future reference.
Maybe just lighten/fade Destroyer a little though, to suggest his distance?Last edited by jwshaw89 on Tue Apr 24, 2012 9:35 pm, edited 1 time in total.

I don't think the actual height of the characters in comparison to each other is all that important. From your composition on the back kernie, there is no actual way to tell how far away each are from the others without an overhead shot. Just looking at the image, it seems the army is tiny little shrunken soldiers, but that is not the case of course because they are off in the distance.
Te same with destroyer, because he doesn't appear in front of anyone, we have no basis for size comparison, so he could be any distance away. So... I think it works well buddy!
Aside from that, I think the back looks awesome!
I have one last question kernie... Your preview shows a case with a standard size for a single to three-disc blu-ray case. If you plan for this to be in a 6-disc case, you will need to use the 15mm spine size.

First off, I like the way the Destroyer is now, so I don't really plan to tinker with it too much more. But maybe I'll trying scaling him up just slightly to appease the naysayers.
Not that I want to continue the debate over the height of the Destroyer, but I don't think your assessment that the angle is favoring Thor is quite correct. Watch the scene here on YouTube and you'll see that Thor is literally only an arm's length away from the Destroyer in this scene. And Thor does indeed come up to the Destroyer's chest.

I think the best way to settle this debate is to assume that either A) the Destroyer is capable of varying his size (He's able to twist his limbs and body around (like when Sif runs him through with her spear), so who's to say he can't manipulate his height as well?) or B) the filmmakers and FX guys just arbitrarily made him whatever size they felt he should be dependent upon the scene.bpmford wrote:QUOTE (bpmford @ Apr 24 2012, 03:12 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>I have one last question kernie... Pay no attention to the size of the spine just yet. I'm just keeping the cover in the standard dimensions so that it works for the Blu-ray Preview Action at the moment.
Without getting into the boring details, I'm making this cover so that I can easily accommodate any specific spine requests that might pop up. Trust me, I'll be making a variety of different size spines for this cover (and a DVD conversion), so that people with 6-10 discs can use it. I'll probably also do one version that isn't "The Ultimate Archive" but simply a "Special Edition" Avengers cover, and change the synopsis, features, and stills to be "Avengers only." The only problem with that situation is the presence of characters who do not appear in Avengers. But, whatever...
I've noticed that a lot of people have been checking this thread, so I hope that means this cover will see a lot of downloads, and I'm going to try to make different sizes and formats for a variety of possible packaging scenarios. I realize that I probably won't please everyone, but I'll try my best...You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.Last edited by Kernie on Tue Apr 24, 2012 11:04 pm, edited 1 time in total.

We'll have to agree to disagree, then. Angles shot from behind a character, and upwards, always favour that character. It seems from that clip that the film makers do indeed alter Destroyer's size to suit the shot - he looks huge walking towards Thor down the road, then shrinks when they're together. It's probably an actual error rather than design, although I think Destroyer's size does vary depending on his power.
In the picture above, are the characters really that tall compared to the buildings? No; it's the angle and the perspective making them so. It's not a carbon copy of the Thor image, but it demonstrates a similar point.
Anyway, in the last bit of the quoted post, I did say none of this mattered because we have no way of gauging just how far off in the distance he is on your cover. So I wasn't suggesting you have his size wrong; far from it. I was only saying that the pic of Thor and Destroyer is a poor one for judging height, which is something to bear in mind for future reference.
As you say, there's no need to continue this debate, but I just feel you were misunderstanding my prior point as a criticism of the cover. It was meant as a general statement about perspective and camera angles.
The cover itself - and I echo the sentiments of many others in this thread - is fantastic.
