Beautiful!

What if you shifted the whole thing down a bit to make more space for the TT. Since the lower section is just rubble, it won't hurt the cover.

What about adding in Edward Norton? I know he isn't in the Avengers, but neither is Portman, and his movie was part of the series...

Well, technically... that wouldn't make any sense to include Norton's character (Bruce Banner), since the Hulk is already on the cover. That would be like having Iron Man on the cover, and then Tony Stark off to the side. In a "montage" style, that would work, but I'm trying to create a scene where all the characters are occupying the same space together, so the "hero" and his alter ego can't really exist side by side.

For this reason, I'm also excluding a lot of the '40s Captain America characters. Hence, no Peggy, Bucky, or the Howling Commandos... because they're long dead prior to the formation of the present-day Avengers. Portman's Jane Foster and War Machine are alive and exist in the present day timeline of the Avengers film, even if they don't appear in the movie itself, so I'm including them on the cover. If I had space, I'd try to fit some of Thor's Asgardian characters in there as well, as they could potentially make the journey to Midgard (Earth).

I have some plans for the rubble section, but I may end up shifting things slightly depending on how those plans pan out... :D

I design my keyart with a decent amount of extra space around the sides and "crop in" on the area that I want to use for the cover, so I do have plenty of room to shift things around very easily... like so...

TT looks much better now. Those highlights really brought it out! I suppose that's partly what I meant before when I agreed with JR, that it blended too much with the sky. All sorted now.
Liking the cityscape in the distance too. What's planned for the rubble bit, the 'ultimate collection' text?

:agree:

Another great update! :thumb:

I'm debating what to call this collection... :chin: :chin:

I want to give it a cool name that indicates that it collects all of the Marvel Universe films thus far, but I don't really want to use the word "collection" again, as I have several cover sets with the word "collection" in the name.

I like the word "Ultimate," as it implies the inclusive nature of this set, and it also hints at the Ultimates comic book, which is Marvel's "ultimate" version of The Avengers.

Maybe something to tie in with SHIELD, files, protocols, etc.

Any suggestions?

Perhaps something with the word "Assemble" as it was used in some of the marketing campaigns...
