I'm with those in the Proving thread suggesting he go through the WIP forum.
He seems to have a solid hand while working with imagery, but small improvements in elements like synopsis text, credits, and studio logos could make this guy great. If he's open to trying the forums out, the upgrade seems like a good idea. Otherwise, it might be worth waiting for a few more covers outside of his sets (or after his next set) to see what kind of designer he's going to be.
