Actually I really thought you we're joking at first, Andrew! Get a reality check - we're not movie stars! Go check out other MD galleries for comments/number of downloads. I'm sure they won't be all that magnificent as You seem to think. I know mine aren't; but perhaps that's just me.

Anyways - There are a lot of beautiful covers for films, I'd never go buy - even to use with your or other's BEAUTIFUL work - but that won't stop me from being active in the wip threads!

I am really not trying to bring you down again or anything, hope we are past that, I'm just trying to help keeping things in perspective. :)

(First off, please understand that my tone is meant to be apologetic and self-contemplative, I'm honestly not angry, upset, defensive, or trying to start a fight)

I don't know really know how to interpret the tone of your post, JR... are you mad at me?

I already said I know I'm difficult to deal with sometimes (or even quite often). But, is the general consensus around here that I really am such a movie star diva who is difficult to work with (maybe I'm misreading things, but the tone of your post and Bunny Dojo's seems like I'm getting on peoples' nerves)? I certainly hope that's not true and that I'm still considered a welcome addition to this community. I have an ego, I realize this and I apologize that it takes over sometimes and I fully realize that I have the uncanny superpower to frequently rub people the wrong way. The last thing I want to do is feel unwelcome, or have my attitude make others feel unwelcome at this great site that we call home.

If I need a reality check, that's cool... but when you see me down, please don't come along and kick me. Kicking hurts and I'm quite tender... :D :D :D

No hard feelings on my end, and I hope there are none on yours. Again, my apologies and I hope my attitude has not made me unwelcome here.

First thanks for pointing out the tone in which your post should be read. Made it easier for me to understand; remember English is my second language - I know I can come across as being harsh or even rude in my posts... I'm dealing with it! :D

Anyways - just wanted to assure you - that

1) You are a most welcome member of this site
2) I'm a big fan of your designs
3) I meant honestly what I said. I didn't realize it wasn't a joke until I read Tim's post!
4) and yes again - the way I perceived the tone of the post was --- as it was a bit... over-the-top Diva-wise :)
5) Honesty is good - but it may hurt
6) I have no trouble with, and am NOT mad at you!
7) Getting a HiRes nickname merely shows that you , in fact, are a warmly welcomed, and most appreciated member of our small community! Nothing degrading about it - it's just a joke title like Arkflip's 'Princess'.
8) I did not mean to kick you while you were down, sorry if you read it like that.
9) I will be looking forward (as always) to your wips - and your posts in other ppl's wips, which have been most instructive and helpful lately

Thank you for clearing that up, JR. It really does mean a lot to me that you have been helping with my WIP, even though I know that you don't have any interest in the actual content of the DVD's themselves. It sets a good example to all of the members that we should help each other out, regardless of whether or not the movie or TV show is popular at the moment. Thanks again for clarifying and I'm sorry that my goofy moods end up causing so much trouble! :D :D :D

In an effort to steer this thread back on topic and away from my myriad of personality flaws and defects, here is a preview of Season 4's cover, which has become a cause of much frustration for me.

I can't find any pics that I like to fill in the back montage. I like the pic of Adam (the cyborg/demon guy) and the topless Tara pic is the best I could find to fill that space I had established on the previous covers. Not sure about the Buffy pic though.

I'd LOVE to have a good pic of the Gentlemen from Hush, the silent episode, but haven't had fantastic luck finding anything good through google. Can anybody help?

Any suggests of other characters or imagery for Season 4 (I'd like to fit the Gentlemen, the First Slayer, demon Giles, Riley, or non-werewolf Veruca, but can't find the perfect image to use)? Maybe it's the fatigue of so many montages on these covers, but I'm not liking anything I do to this back collage... :(

Thoughts please? :D

Maybe you should try moving Buffy down a little and to the right (away from the edge of the cover) bring Adam up into that top left corner move Tara over sort of below Adam and bring in Willow behind her?
Just thoughts :)

I think I've solved the back montage issue...

I had to rework things a bit since I didn't have a Buffy/Angel couple image for the top of the back montage (and I don't think many good Buffy/Riley couple images exist... and Riley is lame, anyway). Found a still of the Gentlemen that I was able to work with and I'm glad I was able to include them. Added Willow and Riley as well, since Willow had a fairly decent arc this season and Riley was tied in to the overall main plot.

I think it's finished... what do others say? If it's good to go, I'll upload it! :D

Oh, and if I may make a relatively simple request (and since recent discussions have got me thinking more about this), while I truly value everyone that has chimed in on this WIP and their input has made this cover way better than I ever could have done on my own, maybe some new faces can pop in and offer some advice or feedback?

I'm not even talking about this thread in particular, pick a thread or two that you might have an interest in (or better yet, even one that you don't) and offer some help and advice to the designer (but make it constructive and encouraging). Whether it's a simple "thumbs up, keep going" or a detailed suggestion of how to improve the cover, I think the designer will really appreciate it. JollyRoger (along with several others) have taken the time to do this in this thread and have been a huge help to this cover, despite having little interest in the show itself.

I know I'm moody and cranky, but part of the reason I get disheartened is because I see members actively involved in other threads that never bother to pop in on mine. I know I haven't been active in everyone else's threads either, so I'm guilty of this myself, but I try really hard not to be. I try to offer advice when I see something to add (and I understand that sometimes there is literally nothing to add). I'm not trying to start a finger-pointing session of "who-helps-who-and-ignores-others," that's not the point of this request. The request is for everyone, myself included, to become more active in WIP threads because we have an interest in helping the artist's design, not because we love or hate the movie that he/she is making a cover for. I really feel that this will strengthen the already-strong community of designers that we have here at Hirescovers, and maybe even help us make new friends in the process.

Again, this is not meant to denigrate or devalue everyone who has previously helped in this thread, as I am sincerely grateful for every single post and comment in this thread. I'm also not trying to bash anyone who hasn't commented yet, and this is merely encouragement and an invitation for them to do so. I mean no offense at all by this request. This is more of a call-to-action for all of those members who remain silent when they have something constructive to add, even on covers for movies and shows we have no real interest in or no intention of using the finished cover (it's not about the movie/show, it's about the design). Please speak up, because I think we all have much we can learn from each other when we finally start communicating! :D :D :D

I'm off to comment on some threads I've never chimed in on before, in hopes that it will encourage others to do the same! :D :D

Cover looks sweet mate :)

Good post on commenting in the WIP threads, I would just like to say in addition to that, some people probably feel like their comments might not be taken seriously because they are not a cover designer, have not uploaded anything or they don't feel they have enough experience to comment on a masters designers work, I say, make your comments if you see something you think warrants it because there are no silly ideas, weather an idea is used or not by the designer for whatever reason, every idea has merit, and one little thing you think of might be the one little thing that makes a difference and adds that something special :)

Absolutely, what seems like a silly suggestion could be the spark of a greater or bigger idea. I hope nobody feels intimidated about speaking up and offering a suggestion. I know that when I get a suggestion to change something, I often defend my original choice or explain why I'm not using the suggestion (which could make it seem like I'm not listening at all), but I feel that that sort of back-and-forth debate is really helpful (and healthy) in making a good design. Most times, when I'm done being stubborn and actually consider the change, it's often for the better anyway. :D :D :D
