So far, here's an early concept of the direction I'm headed. Wanted some feedback (if any) so far. I'm working on a picture of Thornton's character to go right in the center and I'm working on blending him into the wheat field right now. :) Just thought I'd show what's coming up.

Can you make director's cut a bit smaller, or would it look stupid?

Update at the top (you may have to refresh). Still needs some lighting tweaks, some cloning on his shirt to remove a damn watermark ;) and some minor blending. Decreased the size of "Director's Cut" per samppa's request. Also included a custom slipcase design which will be available upon request. :D Spine and back should be coming along shortly.

Hey Chuck, could you please, while your cover is in WIP, post previews along the way, and not change the different previews in your posts? A lot of members are using these wip threads for inspiration... ;)

As for your cover, I think your typography is too heavy. These are my ideas for you:

* Lose the Awards text, takes up way too much space.
* Lose the paper texture, no need for that with your design.
* Shrink TT until it matches 'Billy....' above, then fix the leading.
* Move Director's cut in its curent size and font to the bottom.
* MAYBE move the pic of the field+Billy Bob a tad down, now that you're rid of the heavy text in that area.

I would love to see a preview of your current front with the SUGGESTIONS above, but of course it's your call, Chuck :)

Nice.. looks like you have quite a bit more to do, so honestly i would'nt be thinking about text, or anything else atm. You can add your own sky background in there too, liven the scene up a bit.. make it slightly more dramatic :)

Honestly, I may not mess with the text, titles too much. =\
