Nothing's really clicking with these yet, but here's the best setup of what I've tried so far:Last edited by Bunny Dojo on Mon Jun 20, 2011 8:42 pm, edited 1 time in total.
I say try a blend of your earlier version and this new one. I liked the actor names/TT from the first post mixed with the larger image and background of the second. Maybe slide Bogart/Bacall down and to the right a bit so you can fit the earlier version of the typography at the top?
The first version of the text I thought was a bit more elegant and fitting with the romantic image.
Just my two cents...

Excellent BD - was actually thinking of losing those two bums, when looking at your earlier preview, just this morning in fact!!
While I like the fonts used on this - I'd like to have a comparison with your earlier version, seeing you have moved the text around. Could you please make a front lay'dout like this, but with the old font? Have you any idea when the new font was made? (is it contemporary with the time of the movie?)

A designer knows he has achieved perfection - not when there's nothing left to add - but when there's nothing left to take away

So...
I tried more and more images and compositions, but I kept coming back to this same first one. Luckily, I'm finally pretty happy about the "style" of where I am, but I've arrived at a bit if a crossroads.
I'm mostly set with the coloring and am happy with all of the text minus a title treatment, but I'm trying to figure out if I should use my first image, my first image with a different background, a large shot without the paper and without a background, or a large shot inside the paper (without a background).
Decisions, decisions.
Any thoughts?
And yes, I know how sad you are to see the boat taken out and I know the hair cutout needs work. :P
