Introducing, tmscrapbook!!

The cover World Stuff

Where did your nickname come from?
I have a small business called "Treasured Moments Video Scrapbook" where I covert VHS movies into DVDs and create slideshows from photographs.
What part of the world do you come from?
I live in the central part of Washington state in the USA
What got you into designing covers/labels in the first place?
I was running out of space on my shelves and had several movies and their sequels. So I started designing double covers for myself to save shelf space. Now I'm getting lots of requests for "spacesavers," so I guess there's a lot of other people like me who need to save room.
Is there anyone on the cover/label making scene that has inspired you?
All the other designers on this site are FABULOUS. I really don't feel like I measure up. However, I feel I've found my niche in designing multi-covers.
What would be your best advice to any up and coming designer?
Have lots of patience and be willing to accept criticism.
What’s your favourite cover/label you have made?
Probably "The Da Vinci Code / Angels & Demons" double cover, but kind of hard to pick a favorite.
What’s your least favourite cover/label you have made?
I don't really have one.
What’s your favourite cover/label that someone else has made?
I love all the stuff that Zantasha has done.

The Personal Stuff

What is your real name?
Pam Owen
What do you do for a living?
I am a retired Mathematics teacher. I taught high school for 25 years and college for 8 years.
Any kids (that you know of)?
I have one son and two step-daughters.
Any brothers/sisters?
I have two brothers and one sister.
What was your childhood like?
Share an interesting "growing up" story. I had a pretty "normal" childhood. I do remember coming home from swimming one afternoon with my older brother. I had ridden my bicycle to the pool to meet him. Coming home, we were late, so he suggested riding double to try to get home on time. We were riding down a steep hill and saw our "busy-body" neighbor at the bottom. Knowing that she would "rat us out" to our mother for riding double, I hopped off the back of the bike. Of course, we were going too fast, and I lost my balance and fell against the curb of the street breaking my collarbone. Having to spend the bulk of my summer in a sling and not being able to do things with my friends was horrible. [/b]
I was only 11 at the time.
What is your favourite food?
Pretty much anything but Thai.
Tell us about your best vacation.
We visited southern Ireland in 2002, and I thought it was fabulous. I didn't care much for the food, but the people were wonderful.
What is your favourite type of music/band?
Classic
What is your favourite movie of all time?
Hard to pick just one - maybe Mrs. Doubtfire
What one place would you like to visit?
Switzerland
What other hobbies do you have besides movies & graphics?
Reading, sewing, exercising, hanging out with my husband.
What is the best thing that ever happened to you?
Getting married.
What is your favourite colour?
Red
What is your favourite animal?
Dog
Who is your favourite actor?
Harrison Ford
If you could meet one person, who would it be, and why?
President Obama because I think he is intelligent, caring and really wants to help people.
What super power would you have, and why?
I'd be able too make myself invisible so that I could go anywhere I wanted without feeling inhibited.
What is your favourite car or motorcycle?
A mini-Cooper
Are you a night-owl or an early-bird?
Probably both - it's the middle of the day that I have problems with.
If you knew you had 24 hours to live, how would you spend that time?
With my husband

Some strange stuff

Have you ever been shot?
Only with a hypodermic
Have you ever shot someone?
No
What size feet do you have?
7
Do you like Spam?
Yes
Do you like Spam mail?
No
What's your favourite colour of sky?
The oranges of a beautiful sunset.
Did you go out last night?
No
What’s your worst nightmare?
Having to take a final for a class in college, but never having attended the class.
If you won a million dollars, what is the first thing you would do with the money?
Buy my mom a new house.

Anything else you feel like sharing with the community?

I love designing multi-covers for people who say "Thank you." I am a self-taught Photoshop user and feel like I learn something new everyday. I only wish I could be half as talented as the people on this site.
