Cover Thieves

I sent something similar to striker over at coversq.com but I was just a little more rude than that.

it started with me commenting on my own scan that I fixed up " why are you uploading my work and then i wen to call him a cover thief in comments which he deleted.

I sent him 2 pm and the 2nd one said If your going to host my work and not remove than at least give me credit and everyone else who's work you stole. I want to to remove min and everyone else stuff. couple hours later I was banned.

While I see RickT's point to a certain extent, it's still odd that they ignore the wishes of the original designers to have the content removed. I know I should be thrilled that I'm being given credit for my work (sarcasm), but it still doesn't sit right with me.

Some designers would probably be cool with just being given the credit (hell, even a part of me doesn't really care as long as people know I'm the artist), but it's still the fact that they're standing behind some bull$#!t policy when a number of us have kindly (at first) requested our covers be removed. I noticed some of my stuff up there a few weeks ago but didn't say much because I was given credit, but given the recent developments, I'm pretty insulted by their attitude.

Oh well... is the horse dead yet? I need a beer...

AWESOME... I've been blocked from R1DB as well (even though I haven't posted anything since my convo with jayhawke). Oh well, out of sight, out of mind... hope they like my covers...

Apparently jayhawk has taken a page from sandman's book. Complain about cover theft, get banned.

I took a peek over there and was stunned at the current volume of covers presumably being upped from here. HRC is arterial bleeding covers right now! Seems like this happens once a year...And it may do this site a major disservice. I mean why come here if I can find all that fine work somewhere else? There are extreme measures that can be done to stop this, hopefully we can find a more moderate solution. Good luck all.

Well they're up to the M's now.. My Martyrs covers were uploaded just yesterday. Interestingly this was the file name not sure on the language...'martyr-iskence-odasi'

I just found some labels dating back 4 months ago and i found bonalizas criminal minds labels there as well and Kernie's zeta project labels. They're all get going to get proper credited now.

Sorry, I have just found and read this post. As a newbie to this site I haven't uploaded anything yet (am still working on my South Park covers), but I just wanted to add that I joined due to seeing Kernies work and being amazed by it. The covers were just too cool. Yes I am a comic book geek and several of the covers now adorn my bookcase and look great. I appreciate the losses through theft is annoying and respect the right to keep your work where you choose to. I hope the cool covers remain here and do not get deleted and some way can be found to protect designers work. In short I just wanted to say to Kernie that I truly appreciate your artwork and love the designs, and all the designers here perform amazing work I cannot compete with yet but by browsing all these incredible designs hope fully I can get inspired enough to

Has anyone been to the other site run by a dictator (I will not mention the name as most know of what I speak and no need giving the thieves a head's up). The thieves my be uploading there also. If they are, gather the info (date posted, username), but please refrain from commenting at all. Any comment, even asking to be credited will get you banned (learned that the hard way). At this point, information is more important. And information we gather may help us shut these dirtbag bastards down.

If you get any info, PM Baz or myself, or both of us (we share info). Please do not post it in a public forum (like this Thread). Once again, don't want to give the thieves a head's up.
